Orleans to the Palms

I know these properties are close, sort of. But are they close enough (and is it safe enough) to walk between these properties? Would a cab driver balk at taking a fare between the two? Would you feel comfortable with your gray haired grandma making the walk? Or would you advise her to take a cab. Thanks for the information!!!
They are not directly across the street from each other. The Palms is like one major property south and across the street.

A cab driver would be very upset.
You can take a shuttle from the Gold Coast (across the street from Palms) to The Orleans. A cab ride should be pretty cheap too. It's about 2 miles to walk...through a commercial area. I wouldn't walk it with my Grandma. I think RM is thinking about Gold Coast...not Orleans.

Thank you. You are correct. Sorry about that.

That isn't a horrible part of town. There are several adult entertainment establishments in between.

It depends on the weather, whether I would enjoy the walk. With the right temperature, not bad at all. High winds, rain, or scorching heat, it ain't happening.
Orleans to Palms is a cab. It's kinda far, not exciting and you see some sketchy people walking around the area. 99% of people would drive or cab going from Orleans to Palms.

Maybe you mean Gold Coast. Gold Coast is sort of close to Palms. That is walkable. Cabbie might get a little balky about going from Gold Coast to Palms. But they'll do it.
It's just over a mile. The Orleans shuttle to Gold Coast is an excellent option. Arville Street, which has sidewalks, is fairly busy throughout the day until late, busy enough that I wouldn't expect to find many troublemakers looking to harass pedestrians. Still, it seems a bit far to walk with the typical older person. There's a bus, it runs every half hour or so during the day, less in the evening.

Cab drivers in Las Vegas are accustomed to short hops and will appreciate the business. Every cab you find at Orleans and Palms will drive you, in fact they have to, it's the law.
I,m 6ft 4 245 lbs and have NO Problem walking anywhere in Las Vegas , However I do agree that the Shuttle is the Best Bet and it is Free (Tip) suggested for Driver. He did get you there Safe. It is Mostly an Industrial area so it can be Desolate. If it is a Slow Night Cabbie,s would even appreciate any Fare. so you have a Few choices . Enjoy and be Safe
Lots of vacant lots along that stretch, but didn't notice any threatening malingerers when I walked it 8-10 yrs ago. What worried me was the number of minor roads that intersect Arville along the way. Believe all the intersections have stop signs for the crossroads with Arville being a throughway. Traffic along Arville is fast and heavy, and you have to look sharp at each intersection to make sure some knucklehead isn't making a fast turn without noticing pedestrians trying to cross. Walk is a comfortable distance, but you need to be careful.
You can take The Orleans shuttle to the Gold Coast, then walk across the street (Flamingo Ave.) from there.

However, Be Very, VERY CAREFUL walking across that street.

Make sure that you have the "WALK" light, ...... walk fast to get across, .......... and still keep constantly checking for cars.
