You only need health insurance if you use a body. If you have a body and keep it in the morgue it doesn't have to be insured. You also don't need health insurance if you don't have a body. Health insurance is required in order to protect the doctor that you visit, so the hospital is not left with unpaid bills

The govt says I need insurance if I have a car.

Only if you use it.

The problem with mandated health insurance, is that you can NOT use your body, its always IN use. So what's next, the government says who you can and can't get married to. Or better yet IF your allowed to get married at all. What about the opposite, the government says your 10 year old daughter has to be married by the age of 15 or face jail time?

Shouldn't this read "The problem with mandated health insurance, is that you cannot NOT use your body, it's always IN use.

I'm not trying to be the Grammar Commentator but.....this appears to be the rare occasion where a double negative is correct. In reality, it's not a double negative because 'NOT' is referring to the word (noun) 'NOT' not the adverb 'not'.

....return to live action.

I don't know, my English teacher had a major thing about the double negative thing. So I've been brainwashed to not even try using one under any circumstance.

But you don't have to get it repaired it if breaks. If your car breaks down you don't have to take it to a mechanic to get it fixed if you can't afford it. Instead you can leave it in the yard and up on blocks. If you did take you car to the mechanic anyway and then told him you don't have the money to pay, he would impound your car. Likewise a hospital should be like a restaurant and impound your body and put it in the kitchen doing dishes until your bill is paid. Or, better yet, require payment up front like a cafeteria.

Insurance should be optional. Likewise a business should have an option to serve only those customers who can pay their bills.
Um, real easy answer here. Car insurance is needed because you are driving a 3000lb wrecking ball, which can at any time ruin another ones life or property.

Personal health insurance if not bought only hurts YOU no one else....

Supreme Court will rule 5-4 or 5-3 that making Americans buy insurance isnt legal.

Some state governments don't seem to have a problem with this when it comes to same-sex couples.

A car can be "put together" or made to work depending upon what's wrong and you can still use it.

The government set up the part where you can just walk in to the Emergency Room and get treated no matter if you can pay or not.

So what are you going to do if some peoson with no insurance has to have emergency surgery or die? Let them die or fix 'em up?

Ps: your talking to one of those folks. I didn't have much of a choice in the matter, get operated on or die.
I agree with Hoops and Maddy the Federal goverment can't require you buy a product from a private company.
OKAY, so the federal government requires you to buy insurance from a federal insurance organization... and they call it a tax. if you dont have a private insurance plan then you pay the tax and you are covered by the government's plan.

a rose by any other name...

an insurance plan by any other name...

I pay a lot of taxes, and if people werent running to emergency rooms because they had insurance that would allow them to go to their own doctor, we'd all save on taxes... and everyone would get better medical care too. this is not a liberal or conservative agenda. this is thinking smart.
