Made it back to civilization (Edmonton) today after a LONG direct drive from Fort Nelson to here. Got an earlier flight back to Vegas so my weekend will start around 10:30 A.M. tomorrow when I land.
For those that think Vegas is expensive, ponder this....
1. $6 for a Heineken at a little dive bar attached to a hotel in Fort Nelson. The karaoke made the renditions from Ellis Island sound like the finals for American Idol.
2. $174 plus tax for a hotel room at the nicest hotel in town that's the equivalent of a Super 8.
3. An $11 taxi ride to go less than two miles with no standby time due to a lack of traffic lights.
It's great to be almost home!
The weather was the strongest point.....low 70's during the day and daylight from 5 A.M. until 10:45 P.M.
No more wildlife see from the roadway except the tail end of moose as he was disappearing back into the woods and his distant cousin who didn't fare so well laying along the shoulder of the road.
I was happy to see Yogi but not sure I'd like constant visitors like Mistrhia and Rick get....they're both a little too close for comfort!
