The Other Side

Its probably not even fair to show the lies about Obama from his opponents vs the other way around...so lets start with a clean slate.

Lets take a look at candidates in the upcoming presidential election cycle. So far I'm aware that Hillary Clinton has been baselessly accused of:
- covering up some kind of nefarious act in Bengazhi during her tenure as Secretary of State. No one can say what that nefarious act is. But they sure do know it was scummy - whatever that act was.
- using her charity as some kind of front for financial gain.
- is in cahoots with the Muslim Brotherhood. The evidence being that she had an assistant with Islamic heritage.

Maybe Alan can help us out and tell us what untrue, defaming lies are being told by democrats surrounding any of the current GOP candidates. I'm curious to see how both sides engage in this sort of behavior on the same scale.

Just give it time PJ. I'll point them out as we go along. Hillary is now an easy target as the presumed Democratic Candidate.....and there is an awful lot of material since she's led a very public life.

And if we really want to compare these kinds of things, we should also lay out exactly who is making the accusation...do they really represent the entire party or most of the party or some of the party or a small faction of the party....and finally what the exact accusation is...in detail.

Republicans have so many candidates the Democrats will keep 'their powder dry' in hopes the Republicans will spend a lot of money smearing each other. Rest assured at some point the most expensive election campaign in the history of ever will have both sides blasting at every opportunity.

The Truths:

i. "Both"? Umm, . . . DonDiego would suggest the truth is pr'bly "all". It's just that the lesser parties don't get noticed much. Wait'll the American Communist Party expands as ever-more citizens want more from Government, and the Reconquista Aztlán sue for Arizona and New Mexico, and the Coalition of Dwarfs/Midgets/Other Little People start demanding less of everything from Government.
If the Amish ever organize, they may well not pick up the meaner habits.
For the moment the Libertarians seem most dedicated to educating folks as opposed to just opposing everyone else. DonDiego agrees with much of what they espouse, but believes practical application of these policies in the 21st Century United States is unlikely. They haven't got a chance of becoming a majority.

ii. Bill O'Reilly? Really, Bill O'Reilly??? DonDiego had also thought that the information within a sealed transcript is unavailable to the public. But really! O'Reilly ?

iii. Senator Harry Reid is, indeed, a liar. But DonDiego supposes no one doubts that.

iv. On a recent thread originally meant as a farewell to David Letterman, after the thread was turned "Obamacare political" by forkushV, DonDiego posted an informative piece addressing the ever-increasing costs of Obamacare, especially to those States which have established a State Exchange. As is his wont, forkushV belittled DonDiego's source: Americans for Tax Reform.
Do poor old DonDiego posted a similar article from reason.com. As no objections have been made over the ensuing 3 days DonDiego opines forkushV finds it acceptable.
In addressing the course of Obamacare DonDiego presented facts and likely outcomes. Subsequently DonDiego has read some reports suggesting significantly higher Obamacare premiums being requested within some States; the reader is invited to Google such matters himself.

In all of the above matters, DonDiego did not smear, name call, or personally attack anyone. [n.b. "Liar" is a descriptive term which means "a person who tells lies"; Senator Harry Reid does tell lies.]

Thank you for offering your sensible opinion, DonDiego. Once again the LVA's 'Elder Statesman' brings additional clarity and evenhandedness to the conversation.

See, there's one more thing both sides do NOT do here. If I have evidence, I don't tell people to google it, I just post it. But Boilerman tells us too google his claim about IRS spending, and DonDiego tells us to google his claim about higher Obamacare premiums. Which means you got nothing DonDiego - and I can prove it.

Umm, the 2015 sign-up period is over, and the extra 3-months added to try to increase enrollment for 2015 is over too. [n.b.For the record during the 3-month extended enrollment the State of Hawaii signed up exactly zero extra applicants, . . . that's zero, nada, naught, zip, squat, none!]

In any case the anticipated premium increases are for 2016.

"The top ObamaCare exchange insurers in six states where 2016 rate requests have already been filed are seeking to raise rates an average 18.6% next year.
Early reports range from an alarming 36% hike sought by the dominant insurer in Tennessee, to a hefty 23% average increase requested by Oregon insurers, to a moderate 7.7% average rise proposed in Connecticut."
Ref: Investors Business Daily

Hmm, . . . DonDiego has something anyway. And to think if forkushV had just Googled it, he'd've had it too.

Or forkushV could've found the The Wall Street Journal Washington Wire and learned that:
". . .the biggest insurers in some of the states that have made the plans’ requests public are seeking average increases such as 51.6% in New Mexico, 36.3% in Tennessee and 30.4% in Maryland — enough to make a 14.5% proposed raise here, or an 8.4% boost there, look almost tame."

Or he could've gone to The Huffington Post article Why Obamacare Premiums Will Probably Rise More Quickly Next Year to learn " . . . insurers are going to have to start raising rates more quickly in the future, since carriers need premiums from healthy customers to offset the high costs of people with serious medical conditions. That will translate into higher costs for the government, as well as some consumers.."

Wait a minute! Cost to the Government ? ? ? DonDiego thought Obamacare was supposed to pay for itself! Where is that "higher cost to the Government" coming from? Has poor old DonDiego been snookered, . . . again ?

But, . . . . n-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o ! forkushV made DonDiego do all the work.

n.b. No name calling. No saying someone is "stupid" or an "ignoramus" or "has nothing", . . . just reports. Again.
malibber feels no sympathy for a guy that has made his living writing books about family values and criticizing minorities as having a lack of family values. He choked his wife and dragged her down the stairs in front of his child. He tried to get his marriage annulled in his church which would make his two children bastards in the eyes of the church. He tried to get his wife's new boyfriend fired from his job and apparently the police department in question went along for the ride. Mr. O'Reilly is a shit stain on the soul of humanity.

Well if you want to take the gawker as gospel, more power to you my friend. As I said before I don't really care one way or another, I'm done here.

I take the court transcripts as the gospel, and the courts finding that it was in his children’s best interest not to be around him. Testimony from a neutral court appointed psychologist if that isn’t enough proof for someone they are letting their political leanings cloud their judgment.

Right. BUT...on May 18 when you created the thread with the link to Gawker...you didn't know they had the transcripts did you? Nor did you care. All you knew was the Celebrity Gossip Blog Gawker had a negative article on 'the shit stain on the soul of humanity'...and attacking the 'shit stain' was all that was really important....and that my friend was my real point.
