Paid Parking at MGM properties - go Uber

I go to the strip regularly and gamble. I host guests probably monthly. I am boycotting mgm properties and when Vegas becomes a not fun place to live and play, we will move to our home state. We do not work in Vegas, we moved here to be "professional vacationers" as I have been labeled by some friends. Vegas is not like other "big cities" and that is why we moved here. The quality of life is at a slow, stress free pace and the cost of living is low thanks to the money flowing tourist. If that changes, so will my address and bank account. We have no other businesses except tourism...nyc, atlanta, chicago,etc...have actual income producing corporations. We have tourism that is all...well, guess what. Gaming is now in most states and online. People don't need Vegas, vegas needs people. Our shows and food are double to triple other cities. Running more tourist out of town until vegas joins the other ghost towns surrounding it. Smart business? I think not.

Opportunity Cosmopolitan........
The Cosmo has lost money because of its casino...well why not try and get people into your casino. Anyone parking in their garage get $10.00 free slot credit. they may purge some of the Aria, MC, Arena and Bellagio guests

we have already reduced our planned Vegas trips this year to two - due to all of the additional costs.
If people really setting up shop on their lots, all they have to do is read them the "tresspass" warning. If they are caught on the property again, they go to jail. Problem solved. I can see their reasoning for wanting their lots used for paying customers and not having a bunch of freeloaders using up (in their opinion ) prime real estate. Parking should be free for paying customers. Maybe a matchplay or the money back off your bill would be a good way to make sure you spend money while you're there is the best way to go about this.

Great Op-Ed from believe it or not, the Los Angeles Times, regarding this matter.

They should do free parking for locals with local ID or something....

This just seems like a bad idea. What if they lose a customer over a minor parking fee that would have spent $$ on the tables etc??

just seems like they will lose money trying to make money on this idea

yep, good article . I realize times change and nothing good lasts forever, but they have slowly whittled away at everything that makes us love Vegas. we are all sick and tired of it, yet they keep telling us that visitation is at an all time high. I love a good bargain, a casino with decent payback, cheap eats, free drinks, no resort fee, no parking fee etc. and with that I will willingly spend money in a casino knowing the odds are against me. I will NOT (at least not very often) spend money on upscale dining /shopping / clubbing. I can do that anywhere if I get the urge. does this mean I am old? I am not even 50 yet.

The big problem with the strip hotels is that two companies own about 80% or more of the major hotels. That can kill good old fashioned competition.
