the Paid Parking gouge..

Billy doesn't understand. I prefer good gambling odd. I hate it if someone tells me that 6/5 blackjack odds benefit me. Don't worry about it, it's too complicated.

They institute resort fees, no problem.
But they want to charge for parking thats the straw that breaks their back.
Maybe now they will finally figure out what intelligent gamblers did years ago- there is no reason to go to the strip.
Welcome to the 20th Century.

Billy, you don't understand my point? If you do, please explain what my point is, and explain what you disagree with. I'll expect an insult instead.

I will be curious to see the effect of the "paid parking" ripoff after the numbers are computed for the first half of 2017. Many current and future visitors to Vegas have already made reservations for the next 2-3 months and will be gouged if they don't decide to cancel. After the next 3 months or so I expect to see a downturn in visitation to the Strip, and after that time period I envision further eroding of visitation as visitors say enough is enough to the continued gouging. I, for one, will be enjoying my future Vegas vacations downtown and off the strip.

Just where do you park Downtown with no fee? Which hotel do you stay at Downtown does not have a resort fee?

I don't think Downtown is all that much better than the strip in regards to resort fees and parking.
I pay no resort fees and have no use for a car when staying downtown.

The resort fee at El Cortez is approximately $10 per night and parking is free......remember the resort fee is also taxed so you can add 12% to whatever is quoted....

Don't forget the El Cortez offers drinks with liquor poured from bottles so you know what you are getting vs MGM with a pour from a gun which they now admit is 1.25 ounces instead of the standard 1.5 ounces.

Don't forget the El Cortez also offers 3-2 single deck and double deck blackjack at a $5 minimum level.

Main Street Station, California, Fremont and 4 Queens do not charge resort fees. Most, if not all, downtown casinos will validate your parking ticket so you don't have to pay for parking.
The LA Times ran a long article about how it will impact the locals. Sounds like everyone will suffer except the casinos and Uber.

I've heard they have special St Bernards in the garages to rescue stranded travelers.

The only gridlock I'm aware of was for the opening of the arena where people flipped out over the $20 parking charge and the day of the marathon, where the issue had nothing to do with a parking fee.

As of March 1st, there will be a $10 "Rescue Dog" service fee if one is used.

I wonder if he'll have a little barrel of brandy for the weary?

Yes.... But like the mini bar in your room, you'll be charged if you use it.

I will still enjoy what is offered to enjoy on the strip. I will still think Duh to people who think they owe Vegas that much money to pay for how many fees that never existed a year ago. Yet these huge casinos have been built, and CEO's have been paid $$.
