Paiute Resort, Wolf Course

I know that there is a golf site at LVA, but since it has only received 3 posts and 5 responses since last November, I thought I'd ask here.

We planned to golf The Wolf last Labor Day, but the flood several damaged all three courses at the Paiute Resort. The Wolf was the last to reopen on January 1, 2014 after being closed for 130 days. Does anyone have any recent experience with the condition of this course? I'm booked to play there with friends August 29.

Thanks.
No recent experience but those courses in Paiute always get rave reviews.
I would second Snides. They wouldn't have a course open that wasn't in great shape.

BTW, I think a lot of people share your feelings about the golf forum. You can always post in both. The more posts over there will help. Just a thought.

Good Luck!

I have not heard latest conditions at Paiute, but I have played all three course @ Paiute and I have also played Wolf Creek.

Wolf Creek is a 5 hour round at best but a once in a lifetime experience. The review that got me to visit said, "it looks like Pink Floyd designed a gold course on the moon". On the other hand, Paiute is more of a conventional golf experience, with beautiful scenery and a good variety on 3 course.

Since Paiute is some distance away from Mount Charleston, I was surprised to hear they experienced flooding damage. Looking at recent reviews on Golf Now, people continue to rave about Paiute so I think the condition should be good:

Thanks
lol @ Ric. The golf board is moribund for the same reason this site is what it is, not but a handful of folks give a f*** anymore. With the exodus of the contributing core and factor in that fraction that actually plays golf ... If you guys want to talk Vegas golf or golf in general, I recommend you venture over to VMB. There are threads there almost daily.

phelan, Paiute gets hammered often by those monsoons that well up over and pelt Mt. Chas. I've been out on 15 at Snow under nice skies and by the time we reached the 18th green waves were cresting out of the lake between 10 and 18 and the air was more electric than a closeted FFA habitué desperately waiting on the next Spears beev shot to appear on the internet. The club actually had everyone ride it out in the clubhouse because the access road was flooded.

And I believe that Wolf Creek line was from yours truly.
What first happened was the huge fire last year in the mountains by Mt Charleston, then followed massive rains. With no foliage in the mountains, a muddy sludge crept some 15 miles carrying boulders as large as 2.5 feet across. This mud covered some of each course, causing serious damage.
