Palazzo Bait, resort fee

We recently visited Las Vegas, on a 4 night comp offer from Palazzo.

Check-in was easy via invited guest area.

Once we were settled, my GF wanted to pop online to review her e-mails. No Internet connection !!!!

I called down to front desk and was informed....

We had two options

1. Buy a 24hr. Internet access pack for $19.99
2. Pay the daily resort fee of $32.00 (plus tax)....

I informed her that during our previous visits (4 to 5 per year), any resort fees were comped.

Not anymore..........and sadly a Not anymore to the Palazzo.

Our trips to Vegas will be down to 2 per year. The fees are getting crazy.

I really feel sorry for the Hosts, they have to deal with the corporate BS handed to them. I am sure they are hearing an earful from their guests.
When I have to bring a notebook in my travels, I've just been making my smartphone serve as a Wi-Fi hotspot. I actually use the smartphone to check e-mail too and use the notebook if I have a long reply to write or have other on-line activity I need to do that actually requires the notebook.
I had the same issue with my weeklong stay in Laughlin. The first two days, I drove across the river and sat in the McDonalds parking lot in order to get the internet. By day three I realized I can do without it for a day or two. It wasn't worth $9.99 a day to me to get it.

Yes, I just made my phone a hotspot.

What is this notebook your write of? Like some sort of laptop or tablet or something? Surely, you can't mean bound paper with a pen or pencil.

I have an Acer Aspire R11. It's officially classed as a notebook computer because it is smaller and lighter than a typical Laptop....but it's pretty powerful so I'm not sure the distinction is important anymore.

There was another $40.00 option from Palazzo....THE "Smart Plan".

For an additional $40/night, you’ll receive more than $80 worth of daily extra amenities. ($40/night not reflected in room total)
The Smart Plan unlocks these extras during your stay:
Check in as early as 10 a.m.
Get 50% off drinks* in our casino floor bars
Stream HD content to your mobile device with top-tier Wi-Fi
Receive two premium lattes or cappuccinos per day at any Café Presse
Unlimited downloads of thousands of top newspapers and magazines
*Beer, wine, and well drinks only. Valid for up to two guests.
I'm a little surprised THE 'Smart Plan' doesn't include complementary towels or free access to the Casino level restrooms.

Just my opinion, but these are pretty lame.
