Palazzo Comps

Due to our recent lack of comp offers from Palazzo - I assume this article from Vegas 4 visitors is true.

Are others seeing the same drop in room offers from Palazzo and Venetian ?

Here's the quote from Sheldon Adelson, Chairman and CEO of the company that manages the Venetian and Palazzo, that has sent everyone into a tizzy:

"We've essentially cut out all our accounts except the most highly rated players. No more packaging deals to try to be competitive with others. There's no more comp rooms given out. There's no more food and beverage. There's no shopping credits. There's no restaurant credits. There's no showroom credits."

That would be a pretty shocking statement if Las Vegas was doing well, but at a time when most hotels are slashing room rates and throwing freebies around like they were confetti to lure people back to the properties, this seems almost insane.
Yes....for two years I received regular upfront comps.
Now they have changed that.
Their low to mid rollers have been cut off.
My Grazie box is empty.
Same here - always loved those 2 to 4 nights offers with slot play.

Well off to other Hotels. We already have a 2 night offer at MB and a 2 night offer at Red Rock.
When we go this time we will be at the Cosmo (industry room discount) and will play at MGM resorts and Cosmo, hoping for summer offers.

We will be back to eat up the $800.00 we have in slot play - then...........
Bye Bye Palazzo - enjoy your conference crowds.
Even though I didn't frequent Palazzo as much as Caesars over the past several years, I had always received modest comp offers from them, from $150 to $250 promo play and $50 to $100 dining, along with comp rooms, but I was removed from their "free room comp and promo play" list too, and I'm not a big player when it comes to table games, believe me. I've played with players betting $600--$2,000--$15,000 per hand at Baccarat, and I'm only doing the minimum at $100--$200. I know betting $100--$200 a hand might sound like a lot, but you don't have to bet EVERY hand (which helps the bankroll). Most of the Palazzo floor people manning the Bac tables don't give you the time of day at my level of wagering, believe me!

We had a standing offer for 4 free nights there every month for the past several years. We didn't need an offer but it was always based on availability. That all changed early last fall when he called and they said based on our play we currently did not qualify for a free room. Hubby just assumed that was because we hadn't been there as much since the recession took hold. He still goes about 3 times a year for conferences. He's going again next week and for the first time in probably 6 years he will NOT be staying at the V/P. He got comped three nights at the Wynn.
Yep.

This is just what Aria and Cosmo prayed for.

I am sure there are many players looking at Wynn, Aira (MGM), Cosmo now - as we are.

I feel sorry for their dealers and restaurants.

they may be busy during the week - but weekends when they have no conference people.

I am sure Steve Wynn pop a couple bottles upon hearing this news.
My last visit in Jan 11, found out that Cosmo is bending over backwards for players from other casinos--they really have it right. Granting equivalent privileges from other casino's comps programs upfront, after checking. Much more than Wynn, so if you're an active player, by all means go to Cosmo and check them out and speak to Casino Services or a Host.
So is it safe to assume that if you're not a *high roller* the V/P will not be offering anything in exchange for your play there ?
Gabby, nowhere near a high roller. I mostly play table games, specifically Baccarat, and as you may know, $100--$200 at Bac is sneered at since most Bac players go forth 5x to 10x as much per hand. My offers were pulled with everyone else [normal players, not high rollers, which Sheldon Adelson himself in an interview years ago labelled as those betting $1,500 per hand].
