Palms casino in Las Vegas faces $1M fine for giving prostitutes, drugs to undercover officers

Can't say that i'm surprised!

Palms Casino Bust
None of these things should be illegal. It's not like making illegal makes it go away.
Wonder if it's anyone I know!
Now I understand...my monthly mailer had an offer for free coke...

All I can say is WOW! The gaming commission has even more power than I thought. The case as it reads in the story is so easily defensible it could be handed off to a first year law associate with a gaurantee of success. The DA should be worried about keeping his/her job.
The fact that the Palms is settling shows that either the story is incomplete (most likely) or they are scared stiff of an overly powerful commission.
Just wonder if the APers out there would consider that a advanatge play if they scored some of that stuff if they were not playing full pay machines.
I just wonder how many other Vegas casinos are doing the very same things that the report alleges the Palms are doing... I mean, this behaviour is unlikely to be unique right? Anyway, a million dollars is a drop in the ocean to most casinos. Many make more than this in a SINGLE day... so I guess this is considered to be "a slap on the wrist".
Don't be confused, this is how criminal settlements work. Palms agreed to settle, cop to the violations, admit certain facts, and pay a fine. They are rational and only did so because they feared far more violations, far worse facts, and a far larger fine.

The truth is certainly far worse than the facts that Palms agreed not to contest.
Your kidding me. This has been going on for ages at lots of casino. This is what keeps the high rollers coming back. It isn't going to stop any time soon.

I'm sure Bob Dancer will read this and comment.
