Palms increasing resort fee

Palms raises resort fee
The gouging continues.., and will continue until visitors get tired of being ripped off.
Are there any restrictions on the maximum that can be charged for a resort fee? In other words is there a dollar maximum or a percantage of the room rate?

What is to stop a hotel advertising rooms at $49 per night and then having a $49 resort fee on top of it?
They have hookers? Sounds like the Hard Rock Hotel.

The D was offering $19 rooms with a 20 "resort fee".

edited to add the owner was bragging about it. He said that , he did it because then on hotel booking sites the D would always show up first.
Why care about anything but the total of the two?

Math is hard for some folks.
I am good with the increase. I don't have very high expectations for perks at $20.
Most people don't complain about the near certainty of losing at least a hundred bucks every time they visit casinos in Las Vegas. So why all the crying over resort fees? Casinos prey on weak customers all the time. Like it or lump it, then take it down the road and dump it.
