Palms vp & rooms

Anyone stayed there or played there? vp2free has tons of vp pays on it. I've always heard that place caters to the younger crowd, which we are NOT. Also really wondering about their rooms. I hate ultra modern furnishings and it looks that way on the website.
The VP isn't as good as it used to be but there's still plenty of good schedules to be found.

The crowds at night / day are as different as night/day. Before dinner the place is an old folks home. After dinner it turns into a Justin Bieber concert. The cocktail waitresses are hot at all hours of the day =)
I really like to stay here. It pisses me off that they have the resort fee of $25. There is no way to get out of that. This is a good choice. The vp is pretty good and pjstroh summed it up about the crowd. Hey, I came to like some of the new artists by listening to their songs there. Who knew I would be a Black Eyed Pea fan or would like some of the songs of Lady Gaga. (I'm so old and forgetful I had to Google to remember her name). Rooms are nice, and I would say modern. See if you can pay the $20 tip and get a suite in the Fantasy Tower. It used to work for me. Hasn't lately.
It also has a movie theatre and great food court. Buffet is much improved. Thur is senior day with real cheap prices.
Over all I think you'll really enjoy your stay.

I almost exclusively stay and play at the Palms since I enjoy the games, rooms and comps. The newly updated rooms in the Ivory tower are more modern than the rooms in the Fantasy tower. The rooms at Palms Place are also very modern but come with kitchens which are nice if you staying for a while. The only problem with Palms Place is the trek from casino to hotel. The VP games are good with some FPDW and 10/6DDB but you earn points at a much lower rate on these machines. They have lots of 9/6 JOB and 9/6 DDB scattered throughout the casino in denoms from .01 to $5 with lots of multi-line games. Table games are far as well with all the standard games. On weekends the limits go up pretty fast and the table are usually full. Agree that the buffet is much improved. I would skip the Sunday brunch. Overpriced in my opinion. The pool is nice as well but very crowded on the weekends. If you are going play a lot definitely get a host. I have not paid for a room, food or the dreaded resort fee for 3 years thanks to having a host but I do play a lot of coin through while I am there ($100k plus for 3 days). Good luck and enjoy.

Thanks thanks thanks guys! We haven't been to a "strip" property in a zillion years, since we were Diamonds at the Rio. Fell in love with Green Valley and haven't been anywhere else in FOREVER. I know they aren't strip properties, but close enough. Can you guys tell me a little more about the "high limit" area? We play mostly $1.00 $2.00 vp, but like to kick it up at night.

Also.....are the cocktails out of a gun or do they actually pour you a drink? That's a biggie for us. Thanks!
