I just returned from Vegas last night. I stayed at MGM Signature Suites so parking was free but valet only so it cost me $5 every time I got my car. Other people we were with stayed at the MGM and said it was $12 per day. I paid $13 at Madalay Bay for 4 hours and that did not include a tip. When this particular group travels, it is tradition to take all of our kids to The Stratosphere to ride the rides. In the past, it's been a ghost town but this year it was packed. There was a 45 minute wait just to get up the tower not to mention the ride lines. I asked the valet if it was this crowded because the parking is free but he just laughed. He didn't confirm or deny my suspicions. I think that charging for parking sucks. I will avoid any property that does it. The only reason I paid at Mandalay Bay was because we were in a time crunch due to a flight change. We had planned on walking over.
ETA: The parking at MGM was self parking. At Mandalay Bay it was valet.
