Parking Downtown?

If you aren't staying at one of the hotels downtown and can get "free parking" where can you park for "free".

Last time we were in the area we took our parking garage stub and validated it on a machine at the 4Q but still wound up paying a goodly amount!

Help????????
Main Street Station offers unlimited free parking. Fitz does, but it's only for 3-4 hours.

How long did you stay? 4Q offers three hours free, and you can get it revalidated if I'm not mistaken.

Unlimitted free parking also at El Cortez.

Valet parking is available at all the hotels I have visited downtown.

Golden Gate
Golden Nugget
El Cortez
Main Street Station

To name a few.

I guess if you tip them it's not really free, but...

At the 4Q, get the slot folks or the table games folks to put multiple stamps on your ticket. Each stamp is good for 3 free hours.
the cal also has 3 hour validated parking. The mss is the best because most of the time parking is free. The only time I saw an attendant there was during new years. The el cortez also has free parking but when there are special things going on like slot tournaments or special functions they only allow hotel guests to park there. also at night when the night clubs in the area open up they sometimes have a guard there since they don't want the clubbers to park there.

the lvc sometimes allows validated parking but I think they cater mostly to hotel guests so you need a to show your room card to get in. the fremont only has valet but not sure about validate parking.
This wouldn't happen on the strip.
I usually go downtown for "first friday". There is a metered section right next to the El Cortez that is ground level and has excellent access to all the bars/lounges right there on fremont. It isn't free but the location and accessabilty is great!

Thats not always true. I've been turned away from Harrahs parking garage on more than one occasion. When its pretty full, I guess they reserve it for Platinum or higher players if you are not a guest. They sent me down to the Flamingo.Same thing happened at the Trop in September. Garage was under construction and only hotel guest and VIPs could park there.
