Parking Downtown?

Thats not always true. I've been turned away from Harrahs parking garage on more than one occasion. When its pretty full, I guess they reserve it for Platinum or higher players if you are not a guest. They sent me down to the Flamingo.Same thing happened at the Trop in September. Garage was under construction and only hotel guest and VIPs could park there.

The point is whether or not you have to pay to park on the strip.
The best, hassle-free places we've found to park downtown for free are:

- Golden Nugget valet. Sometimes they restrict it to hotel guests only if they're too full.

- MSS surface lot (pay something like $3 to enter, and get it reimbursed immediately at the main cashier in the casino) (Note: during special events they charge a higher, non-reimbursable rate -- if that rate is in effect, see my next choice.)

- MSS parking garage. There's never an attendant, and never a fee to park.

- El Cortez valet.
On Saturday night, there was an attendant at the MSS garage. He said we had to show a players card to park. Told him I have a card, but not on me, that I needed to get a new one. He asked if I had any other ID and I told him a driver's license. He hemmed and hawed and eventually let us park.

You pay, it's just not at the garage lol. You pay inside with worse odds. I have always parked free at MSS at both the lot and garage.

Wow, that's new. Crazy. Well, it's easy enough to have a B Connected players club card to flash at the person. Thanks for the update.
When we parked downtown the last time we just valet parked at GN. Just have to pay tip. We did park at Binions I think in the garage. I don't think we had to pay. We might have had it validated.

I've had free parking downtown at both "ends" of the downtown section...At the Plaza or the Main Street Station at one end or at the El Cortez (El Cortez has 2 parking garages) at the other.

Things may have changed since I don't get to Vegas as often as I used to, but that's what it was last I was there. (The Plaza may do something different now...they were working on parking construction stuff last time I was there)
