Parking no longer free at these downtown Las Vegas properties

As i posted in the previous thread about vegas trying to nickel and dime clients with auto gratuity plus a service charge plus an entertainment tax being added to some bills now they want to charge for parking downtown. Now Boyd Gaming Corp., the resorts’ owner, is charging daily rates of $3 Sunday-Thursday and $5 Friday-Saturday to park at their properties..

I wish I had this problem in Washington DC.
I have mixed feelings about it. The free parking is nice when you're visiting downtown....but since there's only a few places left that offer it those lots are always packed. Last time I stayed at El Cortez I ended up parking way down at MSS because the EC Garage was full. If there's not enough space for the paying hotel guests then it seems like the non-guests should be charged.

...or maybe the city can just build a big ass garage down there somewhere....like near the old Western.

Wow, really? That's terrible. Even at the secondary EC garage across the street? No garage parking for EC hotel guests?

This is a strong sign of this being a very good time for downtown Vegas.

Never been turned away at any hotel even when the full signs were up if I went to valet parking and told them I was a guest of the hotel. Just saying.
