Paterno may be out at Penn ST

Things seem to be finally moving quickly on the Penn state scandal. Board of Trustees' appear ready to either let "joe go" or set this as his final season.

My question is this, people involved in the Penn athletic dept knew of one assault in 2002 involved Sandusky. Why is it just now that this is coming to light?
Quick actions to contact police would have saved other young men to being assaulted by Sandusky.

Sad way for Ole Joe to go out after 46 years! But, what the hell; how could you "standby" and allow these allegations to go nowhere until now.

Of course Sandusky is innocent until proven guilty. It does not look good for him however.
It is going to be very sad if this is the way he has to go out. He has done wonders for Penn State and it will be hard to not see him there.

I thought the same for Bobby Bowden and Florida State.

Empowered people can usually do a good job of sorting journalistic wheat from chaff.

If the early reports are accurrate Paterno seems pretty negligent to sayt the least. Allegedly an actual eyewitness of man/boy rape in the campus shower reported the incident to Paterno whose total response was to pass the complaint up the chain....no follow up....no confronting the rapist. Nothing became of it. If true then there seems to be plenty of people to blame - Paterno being only one of them.
Oh Paterno, the AD, and maybe even the president of the university are all out. For Paterno it is a question if he will be out before the end of the football season?

[EDIT] Paterno announced this morning that he will retire at the end of the season.
