Payard Express to open at Caesars

As soon as one enters Caesars, from main entrance, on right, Payard Express to open shortly--Spring 2011.
Excuse my ignorance, what sa 'payard express'?
"Opened in November 2007, Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro at Caesars Palace is the creation of award-winning Pastry Chef, François Payard, and is a beautifully designed, multi-layered experience that includes a chocolate shop, a pastry shop and a traditional dining room serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

"The chocolate and pastry shops make up the largest area of the Pâtisserie and offer a variety of Chef Payard’s signature chocolates, desserts, sandwiches and pastries – perfect for an upscale, yet casual, meal on the go. Also located in this area are made-to-order crepes, coffee drinks and homemade ice-creams and sorbets. For guests looking to take home a gift box of Chef Payard’s famous candies or one of his cookbooks, these items can also be purchased in this area.

"The dining room, with its dark wood tables and creamy white leather banquettes, provides guests with a more traditional Bistro experience and serves French-inspired breakfast and lunch items such as Eggs Florentine and Croque Monsieur."

Payard Express is likely his fast food version of his main Patisserie and Bistro which is located across from Rao's deeper in Caesars.

the main entrance, on the right? this isn't the Augustus Cafe that youre talking about, but a new facility being built that is now occupied by slot machines?

This isn't the Central 24/7 which will take the place of Augustus Cafe. This is a new smallish store front that is located just behind the Valet Desk (inside of course), and it doesn't seem to protrude that much so as to displace too many slot machines.

If you're coming in the front doors, it is on the right, well before the statue of Caesar (which is right in the center of the entrance). The restrooms are still located on the right side, now right after Payard Express.
I always thought the Patisserie outside of the bistro was "Express" type of service. Maybe the Patisserie is on overload. Anyway, Payard is always my breakfast choice at Caesars so this is probably a good thing.

I was kind of wondering how it could get much more "express" than it already was. I usually get a cafe au lait there in the AM. I like to play kind of early and I know I won't even set eyes on a cocktail waitress for a few hours to get my 'free' coffee

We have them here in NYC-- it's a chocolatier.

guess they serve coffee to get traffic inside.

too much fat for me...
like Godiva.

OMG! Noahcat you have just brought back a childhood memory for me! We had an elderly swiss gentleman who lived next door to us when I was a child and he would receive "care packages" from Switzerland every few months filled with all sorts of foods he couldn't find here. He would often share the delicious chocolate bars with us. I loved them, but never could remember the brand name - until I saw your post. One look at the Teuscher site confirmed it - those ARE the bars! I thank you, my taste buds thank you and my fitness instructor.. ummmm, well, not so much! I've placed my order and now anxiously wait to see if they still taste as good as I remember!
