PB $320 mil

Oh deary, dear. He's off to a bad start. He's committed a major powerball Faux Pas. One should never come forward in person and publicly accept the check. Now he's going to be swamped with phone calls and personal solicitations from every sheister in the northern hemisphere.

Good luck, Pedro. Your first purchase should be a long stick of hickory to beat back the rabble thats coming.

DonDiego concurs with pjstroh that the wise course of action for a big-winner is to remain anonymous as long as possible. Oh, and to confer with some professional advisors, e.g. a lawyer, a financial advisor, before coming forward to claim the prize.

However, whether a winner can remain anonymous forever depends on in which State the ticket was purchased.

In New Jersey anonymity is not possible:
"Q: won a prize, can I claim it anonymously or use a trust or LLC?

A: The New Jersey Lottery operates in compliance with the disclosure requirements of both State law and the Lottery's enabling legislation and rules and regulations. A winner's name, town, and county can be made available either through press release, or through formal request for public records by any citizen or member of the media."

P.S. DonDiego does not take kindly to being called a "shyster".
