PB jackpot still unclaimed

The recent winner of the 590 Mil jackpot has yet to claim their prize. I find it interesting that if they never come forward that it goes to the states coffers, seems pretty unfair as it sure should go back into the jackpot for the palyers who spent the money to egt it up that high. Legal thievery ..SIGH

Re-draw!
Maybe the person dropped dead when they found out they were the winner! Maybe an out of towner bought the ticket and hasn't checked it yet. Maybe it wound up in the wash! Wouldn't that be a bitch!

There is no doubt that this person is in seclusion and building his tax shelter before he cashes his ticket in.

Hope he changes his phone numbers, gets a good attorney and a great financial planner.

30% of all lottery winners are broke within 5 years.

90% of all lottery winners are broke within 10 years.

As soon as this person cashes in their ticket, out will come all the moochers.

That's exactly what I would do.

I would be in no hurry to declare. Once you do, your life changes forever. I understand why the winner's name is public record -- part of the transparency of operating the Powerball. But I would have all my ducks in order.

No way anyone waits this long to claim and fame. The ticket must be with someone unaware and out of it. Not so hard to do with that many players.

If it were me who won, I'd share it with everyone here who didn't make a stupid post in the last 30 days.
The only problem there is that the longer you take to claim the money...the longer it takes to claim it. Worry about taxes later!

You wouldnt be giving out much money then.

Indeed, the winner took her time getting her ducks in order before claiming the jackpot. She showed up with her son and two attorneys at the lottery office.

Though the release of her name will be public record (understandably so), she does not intend to attend this afternoon's press conference.

Well played.
