Pennsylvania, Michigan, & Wisconsin Recounts Over

This was different from the usual electoral college stuff. This had Joe Biden, as President of the Senate calling on Harry Reid, who technically is still head of the Democrats. Something to do with all the incoming Senators as well as those who were reelected not being able to vote until Biden recognizes McConnell. Then the Democrats could vote to not accept the current Electoral College and attempt to work with disgruntled Republicans to elect Kasich.
It got complicated and is never going to happen so I stopped reading.

I was reading the other day of some bizarre way the Senate can do something. I didn't quite follow it, but it was something about the Democrats will have a slight majority before the new Congress gets sworn in.

The Republicans presently hold a 54-member majority of the Senate.
The Republicans will hold a 52-member majority of the new Senate.

An excellent decision.
According to the article, which I am not at all sure is correct, Senators who ran for re-election or are newly elected can not vote until Biden,as President of the Senate, recognizes the new Senate so the Democrats on the day in question would have a majority.
I do recall Joe Crowley joking about being unemployed for the first time in his life a few years ago as his term had expired even though he had been re-elected.

DonDiego isn't certain to what "vote" billryan is referring.

There are specific and explicit instructions to the Congress addressing the counting of the Electoral Votes cast, including raising objections to votes and resolving the objections.
Ref: Chapter 1 of Title 3, United States Code (62 Stat. 672, as amended)

So any poor losers in the Congress could raise objections for good cause or to mess with the election process. Actually DonDiego would like to see the Democrats pull some sort of such stunt - like challenging every Trump Elector. It would be most entertaining.

Yes. However, all players must prove academic eligibility. From the sampling of electors the media has portrayed I'm not sure they are going to make it.
