Planning for Vegas trip 12/3

Let me start by saying I was a paying member for many years, was even here when the forums started, but I got divorced last year and haven't been to Vegas in about 1.5 years (after going ~4 times a year). So I let my membership lapse and it has been okay, but I'm sure going to miss those coupons this trip! I just don't want to renew to get the 2011 coupons, might have to see if I can start going back more in 2012.

I guess this is like a pre-trip report with a couple of questions, hope you all don't mind. We decided to do a girls trip to Vegas when SWA had a 2 day sale and we managed to book flights for $35 each way and to my surprise I called Planet Hollywood and managed to get 4 nights book, paying $45 for the first night (Sat) and the next 3 comped! I'm feeling pretty good now having a flight and room for under $150 after not having been there in so long.

I am thinking about getting a limo to/from the airport and it seems like the price at Presidential Limo may have gone up a bit. Does the majority of the group still recommend them or is there a better service to use these days? I hate waiting for a cab and dealing with the whole tunnel thing.

Since we will have 1 day where there will be 4 of us there on our girls trip we are thinking of going to see Menopause the Musical (don't judge!) and I am planning on seeing if show tickets are available at one of the 1/2 price ticket booths on the day of the show. Which leads me to 2 questions -- are those booths still there? Do you know if this show is typically available?

Yesterday I took a quick trip to an Indian Casino here and hit a royal flush on a DB poker machine! Very exciting, but makes me want to be in Sin City even more. Any input you can add of new things we should see or do would be greatly appreciated.
Congrats on getting to FINALLY return to Mecca, sounds like you are excited and it will be a great trip!

I have seen Menopause at the half price ticket place many times. I was also looking forward to seeing this show (I'm 49) and I think it's only fair to tell you I didn't think it was worth the time, even at half price. It's only my personal opinion, but I would assume I would be the perfect target audience for this show, and I was really disappointed. It was 'cute' but not really more than a chuckle here and there.

But, yes the booths are still there and I doubt you'd have problems getting half price tix for this show. Have a fantastic time!!

Tix4tonight for locations.

I just stopped by their booth and checked on tickets for you - they are available at a discounted rate of $34.51 (from $59.95). Enjoy your time in Vegas!
You guys are the best!

Diane -- I'm the youngest in the group (45) and I am sure that you and I are NOT the target audience yet, at least that is what I am telling myself. My girlfriends are all excited to see the show so I figure I will go along for the ride and just have fun. We also bought the groupon to use at the Brazilian grille in the miracle mile shops to use that night. So I figure one girls night out and the rest of the time I can go off and play blackjack and VP :-)

Prefect - thank you so much for checking! I really felt that like this show just had to be one of those shows that would be at the half price booths so I told the girls not to buy tickets on-line.

I went to see Menopause the Musical with my mom. This was right before her 70th birthday and I am in my early 40's. We both laughed until we cried. So I guess it just depends. We also got our tix from the 1/2 price thingy.

Thanks Karen -- good to know. I figure just being away from all the pressures of home, throw in some gambling and booze, what's not to enjoy? Please let me know if you have any other recommendations for our group of gals.
I'm a guy in my mid 40's and I've seen it and enjoyed it with my ex after we split. It has something for everybody, except maybe that obnoxious twit Bieber.
If I'm not mistaken, that is the time the NFR will be in town and it will be busy.Any transportation from the airport could be slow.Hope you guys have a good time.
I saw Menopause about a year and a half ago and my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it. A lot of truths in it.

Another thing to do with your group is go to lunch over at the Cosmopolitan at "Milos" Restaurant on the third floor for lunch. Three course lunch for $20.11. Appetizer with about 4-6 choices, main course of fish, 5-6 oz lamb chop & I can't remember the third choice. There is also about three to four choices for dessert. Walnut cake was awesome. Get there
just before noon as it opens then and lunch goes until 2:30. I was third in line just before noon hour a couple of weeks ago and the restaurant filled up quickly. Really worth your
time to have lunch there.

Enjoy

Diane
Norm – I think it is awesome that you admit to seeing it! Just kidding. Thanks for the feedback, I’m sure we will enjoy the show.

BB – I think there are a few things going on that weekend, I hear the marathon is Sunday night and the strip will be closed as well. I guess I will go ahead and book a limo, I’m assuming since no one has suggested a new company that Presidential is still the way to go.

Diane (Nanny) – Thank you for the suggestion, I love it! I want to go over to Cosmopolitan to check out the VP and now I have another reason to go, can’t wait to try that lunch special. I just hope the 3rd entrée is something I like since I’m not a big fish or lamb fan, but I can do some damage to appetizers and desserts.
