How long does a players card stay in the hotels systems? I have not bee to Las Vegas since 2005 - will I need to get new cards and will I be considered a new member, with all the benefits that go with it?
I'm no expert, but my experience is that it varies by casino---and my vary quite a bit. It seems no matter how long I'm away from the Stations card use, they still have me there--the often save my existing points as well!! Similar experience with Boyd, Gnugget, and others. Yet, on occasion, I find that some casino has perged me is a year or less. So in my experience, it varies a lot by individual club.
I frequently have guests come to the rewards center whose cards were first established back in the 1990's. They're still in there, so they are not considered new sign-ups. Most casinos keep track of people by their names and birthdates, so having a different address now does not keep them from finding you.
There has been one time that a slot club purged me. I joined the club at 4 Queens in February of 2004 and only played there for about an hour on that trip. I did not get back to Vegas again until July of 2008. I went to use a coupon and was told I needed to join again since I was not in the system. They encouraged me to take advantage of a sign-up bonus too. That was a pleasant surprise.
Thanks to all - This is my first time asking questions but have enjoyed your blogs for years. Thank you Cyndee - the sign up bonuses was what I was most curious about - am hoping I will still get some. I don't get to Vegas as often as I would like - Live in N.C. and have twin 9 years olds! so I am trying to get the most out of my upcoming 8 day trip.
