Plaza Hotel ?

Did a search but could only find posts re: the Living Social debacle, so, has anyone here stayed there within the last few months? I am just a downtown degenerate so please no suggestions to get a nice room out on the strip, just looking for comments from anyone who has actually stayed in the rooms recently. I did vow never to stay there a few years ago when the place was certainly in a death spiral room wise but thought I might give them another shot with the not so recent renovations.
teechur's Trip Report

DonDiego would recommend staying here in spite of some idiosyncrasies in the rooms. It's quite decent and something of a bargain.

the refresh is a huge improvement at the Plaza. however, I've noticed the prices have crept up lately putting them in the same league as Golden Nugget Carsen Tower rooms at times. I'd say 45/night for a weekday is a fair price for the Plaza..anything more is too much, anything less is a good deal.
We stayed there back in sept and found the accommodations quite adequate for around 40buks a night. Like PJ said tho, I wouldn't pay anything more than 45.

I stayed there at X-Mas for 4 days and 7 days over Memorial Day.

I thought the rooms were fine. Is it the Wynn or The Cosmpoltian, no.

Week day prices in the $35 range.

I'll stay there on my next trip also.
Try hotels.com for a cheaper price than Plaza website.
I saw a "mini suite" that a friend of mine was staying in in April and would be quite willing to stay in one of those rooms. From what I understand, the standard rooms, while refurbished, are a lot more basic with a teeny tiny bathroom

I would stay here, but probably not in a standard room. I stay at Caesars more often than not. I only say that so you know where my hotel room standards lie
My wife and I stayed there in April. Room was very nice.
It would seem to me that comps for the room would be very easy to obtain with a decent amount of vp or slot play. I'm sure a $1 player would probably get anything they wanted...like a full comp for everything!
