Please don't let this be true!! Harrahs might take over the Palms!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

God I hope this doesn't go through!

I didn't think Harrahs (Caesers) had enough money to buy a new slot machine let alone a whole resort.
If you read the article, you will see that Harrah's (Caesars)is not trying to take over the Palms, but 2 private equity groups, one of which happens to be a caesars entertainment co-owner is trying to gain a controlling interest in the Palms.

And after they get a controlling interest, they will rebrand it as a HET/CE property.

I don't see how, whe one of the companies involved has no ownership interest in CET
Well let's see Harrah's took over the Rio and drove room prices to $30 a night and the conditions when right down the tube with the prices.
I expect there is almost always a way for such a big boy to pick one more cherry. For one thing, Harrah (whatever you want to call the Borg) appears to be dragging its feet on some of its ongoing projects, such as the Ohio casinos it has agreed to help develop and operate. Not sure how much Harrah money is involved, but they said we'd have something temporary open early this year with new casinos next year, and that's obviously not going to happen.

Palms is one of the last good VP places near the Strip. It would be a crime if the Borg swallowed it.
Gee, you don't think HET will keep all those 100%+ machines?
The Borg will continue to flourish as long as the lemmings continue to support the Borg.
The article refers to the probability of the Palms being rolled into the Total Rewards programI don't think it has to be wholy owned by CE to be involved with the loyalty program. This is done all the time in other businesses like airlines. In this case a CE partner would actually own part of the Palms. TR would be a plus. The concern should be what will happen to the game inventory. Last time I checked, CE's VP paytables aren't quite as good as the Palms. LOL! Unfortunately, this is probably a vision of the future. CE and MGM will own the entire town except for the Klondike and Riviera. We'll all look forward to playing 5/4 JOB, 4/3 DDB and BJ where a player receiving a natural 21 will have to pay the dealer triple his bet! I guess the good old days were actually good.

Good Luck!
