Please pray for my brother.

I hate this thing called ALS

Please pray for my brother George. Things are getting worse.

George went to the breathing Dr. today. He wants George on oxygen full time. George said no. He had a x ray sounds like he had gunk in his lungs. He wants to put a trac in so that they can suck the gunk out. "temporary" George said NO! He said he know's it would not be temporary...

Thank you!
So sorry to hear that sheltie. I can speak first hand about the whole trac/suctioning out thing works. Sometimes i had to get suctioned several times a day,it made me cough uncontollably for what seemed like hours. Is it going to be permanent or temp? wish him well and prayers as well.

JOHN
Will keep your brother and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Sheltie,

I am so sorry to hear about your brother. I will pray that God will heal your brother.

You make sure that in addition to looking out for your brother you make sure that you get your rest and take care of your self.

Many blessings,

Loyd

Sorry to hear your brother is getting worse. I'll make sure I pray for him. Hope he doesn't suffer any longer.
Sheltie - ALS is a terrible disease and I pray for your brother and your family.

Although his wishes may not sound rational to you and the family right now - he may have more wisdom than you know.

My prayers are with you.
Sorry to hear this,I will pray for you and your brother.May God bless.
Sheltie,
I have a brother George too..

It's so hard on the loved ones when the sick person involved makes the wrong choices- and he is deemed of sound mind-- maybe w/ some gentle pursaision, he will change his mind~~~he's just sick of fighting,` he needs hope.
I will pray he keeps an open mind and pray for you to accept his decsion.

big hug.
JM

God,
grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
FWIW as I understand it, they get rid of the gunk by way of sucking it out as they give you stuff which makes the gunk go from the outskirts of the lungs to the windpipe so you can cough it out.

Hopefully they want him to go on the "puffer" type of O2 which is NOT a straight flow of oxygen, just when you inhale (mom has that type). Make sure to have them deliver the tanks instead of recharging them at home. (Yes, you can refill certain types of O2 tanks at home) If he has this type, the tanks will last up to 4 to 6 hours (depending on flow rate (small numbers here are better )). Free flowing O2 systems, O2 life is much shorter. Make sure you have lines long enough to go where ever he needs to throughout the house. Lastly, either stock up on bottled water or get a couple of large (32oz to 64oz) cups, O2 is rather dry and he will be drinking LOTS of water.
