The plight of the North Strip continues to spiral south

Story
Seems like there should be some sort of penalty for starting a project and not finishing it. Just leaving a giant mass of twisted metal and borken concrete for an untold number of years hurts all of the businesses in the neighboring area.

I agree I think at some point Boyd will have to demolish Echelon
Hard to believe that the Stardust would not still be viable today. They tore down a perfectly good hotel to put up a steel frame. I wonder if the people behind this mess are kicking themselves in the ass now.

I don't think anybody realized the financial impact the election of Obama would have on Las Vegas.
We rode high for decades and couldn't see any possibility of a downturn.
The north end of The Strip has always been a low visiting part of The Strip and, for some time, it was the Stratosphere that brought the most business.
I've been here for so long I remember far too many Strip establishments that are no longer there. I have a sinking feeling The Riviera and Circus Circus may be next to go.

Sorry to tell you this, but this downslide started way before Obama, where have you been?

Yea, but Nobama could have at least said for folks to go to Vegas, have a good time and lets get to work.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and to promote Las Vegas tourism."

Obama never should have torn down the Stardust.

Fucking Liberals.

LOL. Thats right. What we need is a president who tells everyone to go shopping...preferabbly with a Texas accent.

Guess what, people bought stuff.

I think folks started building up the north end too fast and got hammered for it. Especially those folks who were building casino's overseas. Finish one project before starting on another.
