That would be cool, kinda like the "do not call" list. Man what a great idea that was. Strange tho, somehow my wife's cell phone has gotten into the hands of some telemarketer's and the b*tch about it is, I"ve answered it for her, acting like I'm concerned, and the jerks won't give me the name of whatever the name of the co. is. It always starts out as a pre-recorded mess. saying "there's urgent problem with one of your credit cards"m please hang on for a bank representative". They are experts at sniffing out people who aren't serious 'cause they hang up as soon as you press for an answer right away.

It's gotten pretty bad and now she's starting to get spam texts as well. All the phone co. can do is block no.s, they won't pursue them. SIGH

J

Actually, the more you engage with them, whether you ask politely or insult them, the more they will call. Hang up as soon as you get the pre-recorded message.
Yes, there is a way to opt out of junk mail.

I forget the procedure, but certainly the USPS can tell you. Ask them

BUT, that junk mail is also what is keeping the USPS afloat. It has become a significant portion of their volume.

Maybe congress is just trying to get the postal service hours down to match the hours congress actually works?
Only opt-out I've found that really works is just like the e-mail does: send it to your Trash!

You know whats good for the post office?...and its a good way to stick it to the junk mailers? And just a devilishly good time?

Anytime you get an offer in the mail with a post paid-return envelope do this:
- Stuff the post paid envelope with junk. I use the confetti from my paper shredder. Put enough in there so the weight is more than a standard envelope.
- Tape the back shut so it wont burst open in travel.
- Put it in your outgoing mail

Your junk-mailer will pay the postage. I do it with CHASE Bank every month. No, I dont want a new credit card but thanks for asking - here's some shit a dug out of the shredder.
Great advice pjstroh

Think Andy Rooney did a segment on that, stuff the envelope full of other junk mail, heavy stuff and send it back!!!!

lol
Just make sure there aren't any identifying marks on the return mail. You're committing mail fraud
Some times I'll just scratch out my name and write "return to sender" on the envelope and drop back into the mail box.
