Yes, I made that video as I suspect the problem he is having is related to compatibility view. Especially given the context of it being a new computer causing the problems. Windows IE 8 Changed the way that IE looked at websites. It demands the code on the website your looking at adhere to current web standards. If it doesn't the display looks broken and you often encounter problems with menus and text fields. Turing on compatibility view essentially rolls back the browser to the standards it used IE7. This also accounts for the fact he can post on some forums and not this one. I suspect the other forums he visits uses modern forum software and not ancient forum software like this site does.
It also explains why others have mentioned the forum looked right on their old computers with Windows IE7 and lower, but not their current ones they use that have Windows IE 8+. It is an easy fix and you can always revert if it doesn't work. I am using IE 9 and everything is where it should be running compatibility view.

Did you make that video?
I decided to try and see if my IE 9 would let me see/have the "Quick Reply" I'm missing on LVA when I used IE before by using compatibility view.
I booted on my other laptop (dual boot machine, "new" OS installed and updated). Using only IE9 I connected to the forum index. I "hit" compatibility mode. Than came to this thread.
THAT resulted in the first "Blue Screen of Death" I have ever had since using Windows 7 Ultimate. It also ended any additional attempts to try to help or fix this problem.
I'm not blaming you. I "knew" that there was a compatibility view for IE 9 (and 8 also) but just did not relate it to the problem Dawg is having.
Anyhow, I've "tested" my IE 9, and IE 8 and they just do not seem to like LVA forums. I can reply, post new topics, etc, but I am also missing "Quick Reply", IMO, a much more valuable feature.
Even my preferred, "old" and very stable Acer finds that LVA does not like IE 8 or 9.
Now I got to spend time figuring out why Win 7 crashed with the blue screen of death. I have not even "surfed" the net yet with Windows yet. Just installed the software over the weekend, made it a dual boot with Linux Mint 12, and did all the updates for both OS's.
Hmpf.
