Power ball/mega millions odds.

The jack pot is a VULGAR amount of money. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Let's see, for odds of 290 million to one ,that would be(can be) the same as flipping a coin (fairly) 28 times and they all came up heads(or tails) every time.

My buddy is spending $100 a week on this lottery. Anyone else?
My exercise group has gone in 2x and probably will again for 10 each .One of the ladies said third time is the charm . I think we are going awful out 70 tickets, the max we have gotten is 2 numbers out of 5. Oh well it is fun to dream. Good luck everyone.
The office pool had $120 for the last one...probably something similar for Wednesday. We won $20 on Saturday
Bought 2 tickets ($4) last night. I'll buy the same every day till the drawing.

I was going to buy a ticket..... I really want to. I'm just too lazy, or too something, to actually walk into an establishment that sells lottery tickets.
An English teacher I know said he was driving from Vegas to the state line to buy tickets. I said that if he was a math teacher, he wouldn't bother.
In the end, someone has to win.....perhaps not this week, but someone will eventually win a boatload of money.

Actually I would love to see it it roll over again, curious to see just how high it would get and how crazy people might get. I'd bet it would easily go over 2B-2.3B if it did. I'm guessing it'll be 1.6 by the drawing, it got bumped to 1.4 when I was out earlier.

I had to get an X-ray this morning so I stopped and bought a tix at a few different places on the way home. I think I have a doxen or so again.

While I was waiting in admissions, girl next to me was reading her phone and I overheard her say someone won 50 K in our town, guess I should check old tix. Shoot, I'd be happy with a hundred.
Another low roller here--I buy two tickets each drawing. I had just the powerball last time. That paid $4, so I played "for free" this time.

Increasing the amount of tickets does NOT increase the odds of winning--better chance of being strick by lightning.

If you had the time and the money, you could play every combination and guarantee yourself a winning ticket. On top of that, you would also have 68 other tickets that would pay you $1,000,000 along with thousands(?) of other tickets that would pay you smaller amounts. Just 4 numbers plus the powerball pays $50,000. I guess it would have to be a real math geek with a lot of time on his/her time on their hands to figure out the total cash payout for something like that.
