Powerballs gettin' up there again

Saturdays jackpot is estimated at 196M with the cash option at 116.9M I believe I shall prefer the cash option as opposed to the annuity.I shall also be putting together a little soiree' in Vegas when I win, time and place TBD.

I was planning to find a nice casino and buy a suite until I depart the Earth.
I've told myself, for many years now, that if I won a big lottery, I'd buy a "nice little casino".

I've been to well over 200 casino's in the contiguous USA, some really small "joints" with two BJ tables and maybe 20 machines, some "podunk" towns, etc. Many could probably be purchased for significantly less than the powerball cash option prize.

Would not be "Vegas" with the glitz, glamour, and bling. It would have fair table games, good rules, low minimum bets, and a decent poker room. A "decent" casino needs a large community population with disposable income to draw customers from, and succeed.

I don't expect that to be feasible.

If I had an extra $120 million, I don't believe that I would spend much more time in Vegas, but I would spend more time in the "Islands". I wouldn't buy a second house, but I would regularly rent joints in Mexico, the Florida Keys, Pensacola Beach, Florida, yada yada. I would stay in my current house, but spend a few bucks to spiff it up a bit. I would upgrade cars, but nothing special. I don't even want a car worth more than $50,000.

I would splurge on a nice country club golf membership. Before I did any of this, I would offer my employer my ongoing services for a maximum of 6 weeks.............then I'm officially retired. I need to go now, and get some work done.

1. I'd take the Ca$h Option

2. I'd buy The Cromwell

3. I'd re-name The Cromwell "The Barbary Coast"

Rick
It would likely cost you about a half a billion dollars. They just spent $185 million in renovations alone.

Well if that's the case, I'd buy Ellis Island and rename it "The Barbary Coast"

Rick

DonDiego suggests it might save Rock'n Rick some trouble if he were to just buy The Barbary Coast and leave the name alone:

It may well be marked down soon.
