Finally got an update from Dick...it is NOT good.

Pat is now back in a regular room # 361 at Elmbrook. I have talk to Dr Burkert her Oncolorgest. He tod me that her cancer can not be cured. We can treat it but that will make her sick from the radiation and kimo and would add only a little time for her. At this time we will let nature take it's course. Pat is not in any pain and looks comfortable.
PLEASE KEEP PAT IN YOUR PRAYERS!!!

I do not mean to turn this into a political thread, but I just have to say this: If we had spent as many countless billions of dollars in the last 9 years on cancer research instead of on the bogus Iraq war, where would we be in terms of a cure for cancers, even the toughest ones?

It makes me want to cry.

I always remember Dick and Pat printing out all of the trip reports so they can read each one. They said this would hold them over till their next Vegas trip.

Yes, very sad indeed. Never met Dick or Pat but used to get a laugh about him saying that they used to print out TR's to read. I hope the remainder of her days are without pain and surrounded by friends and family. A somber reminder as to how precious and unpredictable life is.

This is so sad. I've met Dick and Pat, and they're very nice people. I feel so bad for Dick and wonder how he's doing healthwise.
