Prayers Needed for One of Our Own

This is so sad to have to deal with this at Christmas-time. Pat and Dick; You did the right thing by living out the days without the whole chemo/radiation bit. The remainder of her days will be better quality - make every one of 'em the best you possibly can. Prayers will be with you. - Gail

This is so sad. I've met Dick and Pat, and they're very nice people. I feel so bad for Dick and wonder how he's doing healthwise.

Sue the last time I saw them in Joliet, Dick was using a motorized scooter to get around. I believe this is now his current mode of transportation. I hope he is taking care of himself for Pat's sake.

Yes, very sad indeed. Never met Dick or Pat but used to get a laugh about him saying that they used to print out TR's to read. I hope the remainder of her days are without pain and surrounded by friends and family. A somber reminder as to how precious and unpredictable life is.

Dan

Well said. Stay strong.

Yes, he was using a scooter when I saw them at Aliante the last time they were in Vegas.

I agree with Gail that they are doing the right thing and not putting her through chemo and radiation. I went through all that with Dave, and it was horrible, and it didn't help.

What an awful way to spend Christmas. My thoughts and prayers also to Pat and Dick. I only met them once but I too use to get a kick out of his " Thanks for the Trip report I print out each and every one".
Sorry to hear of this. Prayers going your wat.

It's with a heavy heart that I'm posting this email from Dick......

To all of our friends,
I am sending this e-mail to let you know that Pat passed away this morning Jan. 16,2012. Pat was in no pain that we know off from the time she first entered the hospital until she passed. The Hospice care givers took great care of her from the first day they took over and made suer that she was comfortable.
Harder funeral home will handle the funeral and put the death notice in the Milwaukee Journal.
Please don’t call me until at least Tuesday.
Thank You,
Dick

I have Dick's address if anyone would like to send a card. Just PM me and I'll respond when I get home form work.
Please give Dick my condolences, Joyce. That's so sad. I hope he'll be okay. At least she didn't suffer. RIP.
I am so sorry to hear that Joyce. Even though I did not know them my condolences go out to everyone.

God Bless,

Loyd

That is sad news indeed. Cancer is a brutal disease.
