The Preakness is Tommorrow

Here's the Race Information.

DonDiego doesn't bet favorites, . . . and besides I'll Have Another may still be poohed-out after the Kentucky Derby stretch run.

So DonDiego foresees a dead-heat between Creative Cause and Went the Day Well. Bodemeister is also poohed-out.

My wife has not yet selected her pick to win the Preakness. Once she has the names of the horses it should only take about 30 seconds for her to parse out the winning horse. I like Cozzetti. How can a horse with 2 Zs in his name lose?

I thought the rule was to bet the horse that has a jockey wearing purple?
On Mike and Mike in the morning they discussed the Triple Crown of Baseball versus the Triple Crown of Horseracing and predicted which one would have the next winner.

In baseball, the triple crown is someone who leads the league at the end of the season in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in. There have only been 15 triple crown winners in the history of baseball, with the Yaz being the most recent one back in 1967.

In horseracing, the triple crown winner is a horse that wins the Kentucky Derpy, the Preakness, and the Belmont. Many horses have won the first two legs, but die in the stretch run of the 1.5 miles Belmont Stakes. There are only 11 triple crown winners in horse racing, with Affirmed being the last horse to win it in 1978.

Barring any steroid use, it is hard for someone to lead the league in both batting average and home runs.

I would vote that horse racing will have another triple crown winner before baseball does.

No. She goes strictly by the name of the horse and if there's a tie, she'll go the jockey and/or trainer's name. Personally, I like jockeys whose names start with an "A".
Bodemeister box to wire.
Keep an eye on Tiger Talk.
Ok, here are Mrs Snidely's predictions:

1. Teeth of the Dog
2. ??
3. I'll Have Another

$5 trifecta box (total cost $30); Went the Day Well with Bodemeister and I'll Have Another.
I made myself a Mint Julep and will watch the race on TV using my binoculars so I will feel like I am at Pimlico.

You're three weeks early Ellen. That's a Belmont Stakes tradition.
