Figure they are making minimum wage plus tips off of drinks. I believe they have to share 10% of their tips with the bartenders.
I believe for most strip hotels, a cocktail waitress can generally make a dollar tip per drink.
If they flirt with people and are personable, I think they can squeeze even more.
If they hustle, I think they can end up with a nice profit for the day. Of course wearing those heels and doing that much walking and carrying big heavy trays has to be exhausting for many of them.
I also think it's kinda sad(for lack of a better word) to see someone who's obviously past her prime struggling with a tray of drinks. That being said and RE tips, if I'm settling in at a table for a BJ session, I'll give five, a big smile and hearty greeting with a polite "reminder" not to forget me . However that was back when I used to drink A LOT, I still tip generously, I just don't drink much anymore.
