Preview of our Great Escape

We are planning our Great Escape this year same places as last year except for adding Tunica. We are going opposite this year going first to HS Indiana and ending in Joliet. We are taking a little longer this Year with a 3 night stay and 2 2 night stays. We’re leaving Tuesday evening and staying at my sister’s house in Columbus.

Sept. 12-15

Leaving Columbus for HS Indiana. We have 3 nights comped, 2 buffets each and $20 comp for Legends. We also have $55 in freeplay and $70 mystery bonus. I have $40 and need to earn 625 tier credits and Dennis has $30 for 475 tc. We could take this amount or get a different amount which could be lower. We’re thinking we would probably keep this as its likely to be lower. They also have a free buffet each day with 25 tier earned. We will also be there for Happy Hour at the DL on Thursday. Plan to do some pool time.

Sept. 15-16

Spending the night at Metropolis as the only place we could comp Saturday. I plan to go to Church which is a couple blocks away. We’ll get a picture of Superman this trip. We’re thinking of trying the Range Steakhouse there. Probably take a peak at the DL. Hope to get up early to head to Tunica.

Sept. 16-18

Hope to get to Tunica to catch the Browns Vs Bengals somewhere probably at Roadhouse. Wondering if the NFL ticket would be in a DL if they’re open then. We will be staying at HS Tunica and gambling at Roadhouse. We hope to get to the pool. Might see about visiting Memphis.

Sept 18-20

Saint Louis for our second and final Harrh’s SL trip. We really like this place and regret that it’s been sold. We hope to see the Arch and tour the brewery. They have a multi point scan each day.

Sept. 20-21

On to Joliet where we have $70 in freeplay. We were only there 1 time last year and have been getting regular offers. It’s nice that we made it to use this one.

Sept. 21

Heading home, hopefully, with some great memories and maybe some cash.

I’ve been reading others reports here and researching others. If there is anything anyone can add about promos or road problems etc. would appreciate your input.

If anyone happens to be in any of these places, we would love to meet you. We are both diamond so we could each take a guest to the DL.

I was looking at your schedule. The Cardinals are in town those three days playing Houston if you like baseball. If you planning on seeing the Arch and doing the brewery tour, it could be a good way to end your evening. You could also hit Lumiere and the Casino Queen downtown too.

Thank you for the tips. I'm not that big on baseball other than watching our local team which is the dumps now. I am however contemplating a river ride which seems to be a package with the Arch.
They do have ticket packages that include a riverboat ride and admission to the Arch. There's not really that much to "see" on the riverfront from the boat ride. I worked on the Casino Queen when they went up and down the river. I didn't think it was that big a deal. With a real riverboat captian pointing out things, it might be different.

You might want to check out the Old Courthouse and the Old Cathedrial (sp?) too. They are at the riverfront too. If you plan to do all the "tourist" things, plan a whole day for it.

Just back from Tunica 92 to 100 dregres,on Sept 4 thu 8,Blues City Tours is the best, with a good website, phone 901 522 9229.Horseshoe is best of 4 hotels & gambling,I had a number of $40 freeplays, put one in the Wheel of Fourtune & played max,won $500 on first spin.We fly total comp with Preferred Casino Tours, have fun & good luck.
Just got back from Tunica as well.. Used Blues City Tours to see Graceland. They have a Memphis city Tour. Picks up and drops off at your hotel or the casino. Paula Deans was very good for lunch at Harrahs
Thanks for the info. Will look into the tours in Memphis. Not sure if we would do the boat ride in St. Louis, might depend on the weather. Luimere sounds interesting. Could anyone give me more info about it?
Luimere is part of the MyChoice family. The place is nice, but they try to gouge you a little on prices. $4.50 for a beer, evening buffets are $20+ but tasty, and table minimums start at $10. If you are going to be downtown, it's worth a look see.
