Preview of upcoming Article

My upcoming article in BJI will be a very special interview with Dr. William G. McCown the author of "Best Possible Odds" and five other books on problem gambling, including his most recent book, "Treating Gambling Problems". He is currently the Dean of the University of Louisiana at Munroe.

What's going to be so special about this interview is we are going to be discussing problem gambling prevention. This would be how to know you might have a problem BEFORE you have one, or even in the event you were a winning gambler (so far).

If you are unfamiliar with current treatment strategies employed by the psychological and medical community, you can't begin to understand how unusual and important this interview will be. There is no prevention currently in place in America. None! Currently the best treatment strategies involve waiting for the bodies to hit the rocks and trying to reattach the severed shattered pieces.

One month after this is published in BJI I'll repost it here for free. I just wanted to give you all a heads up on what I am working on. I am working hand in hand with Dr. McCown on this, and I hope the information is useful or at least very interesting...

Let me add a caveat or at least an exposition: I am of the belief that it would be more fun to gamble free of guilt and concern that one might have a problem. So my goal with this interview is not to ruin people's fun. Quite the opposite, my goal is to empower people without issues to have more fun. Of course some people may have issues, and for these folks my goal is to give them the tools to spot potential problems before it is too late. AKA, before they are broke and penniless.

At the very least it should be entertaining.
