If you are like me, you assign faces and voices to posters of the message board for folks you have never met. It’s a natural thing we probably all do.
I have met some LVA characters at member meets and other social events such as Ken2V, Dan and Barb, Barb and Dan, KarenTN, LuckyLinda, PaulJu, Coltpacer, Luv3Card, Miss L, Becki, to name a few off the top of my head. So they no longer need imagery.
Here are the faces I assign to some of the LVA’s most prominent posters, in no particular order:
Tennis Bum … Laid-back cat like Bjorn Borg, who handles saute pan with the elegance that the Swedish player displayed with his racket.
Hoops … I have him pegged as dead-on Archie Bunker.
Roulette Man … Broad-shouldered pit boss type. Handsome devil.
Arshaleign … Michael Moore or Ed Schultz, depending on tone of his post.
LindaTx … Scarlett O’Hare, but with a Texas twang.
AlanLeroy … Leonard Nimoy. Beam me up, Anthony!
LVFritz … Probably because I have read on the boards that his name is Fred, and partly because he strikes me as a throwback to another era, but Fred Flintstone.
JM2300 … Craig Ferguson.
Treegirl … Treegirl.
Drmilled … He’s from Houston, I believe he stated once. But I don’t think he has the physique of Oilers star Earl Campbell or the dreadlocks of Texas star Ricky Williams. So I think it’s a toss up. Some days I conjure up visual images of Dr. Ben Carson, other days Herman Cain.
Snidely … Billy Joel (but in fairness someone who met him described him that way to me).
Bagiant … Sweet man. Debonair. Charming ladies’ man. A cross between Johnny Depp and Pierce Brosnan.
Don Diego … For the longest time, I thought Don Diego might be Chinese because of the way he covered his eyes in photos with horizontal bars. But recent full exposure proved me wrong.
Teechur … OK, I know what she looks like because she has long posted photos minus horizontal bar on her eyes or breasts. But I mentioned Don Diego, so I want to mention Teechur who has a radiant glow, probably from eating Don Diego’s tomatoes.
Frankie Rizzo ... Alfred Pennyworth, the valet for Batman himself. I don't know any famous valets so that's all I've got.
TonyStewartRules … Walter Matthau.
