question about qod todays topic Oct 13 Fremont Street

Well Todays topic is about Fremont street and freedom of speech states that people have to stay in the circle, well are bigger groups exempt from that?

I have seen character street performers ticketed if they step out the circle

I have always noticed the people protesting sex trafficking aren't always in a little circle, maybe they rent the space out? Maybe they have different rules?

I am glad topic came up because I am curious now

here is the link to the original question/answer I am referring to

of course its only good for today
They make a distinction between 'Street Performers' and those engaged in 'Expressive Activity'

"Street performer" means a person who, upon any surface designated as part of the Pedestrian Mall, engages in any form of performing art, including but not limited to posing, acting, dancing or miming, whether in costume or not; the playing of any musical instrument, singing or vocalizing, with or without accompaniment, where the performing art is not provided by or on behalf of The Fremont Street Limited Liability Company. The term "street performer" includes persons commonly referred to as "buskers" or those who engage in "busking" activities. "

Note that Street Performers are confined to Performance Circles only during certain hours (3:00 PM to 1:00 AM).

Those engaged in 'Expressive Activity' are not confined to performance circles, but do have some restrictions.

Expressive activity.

(A) Expressive activity is allowed within the Pedestrian Mall without the requirement of a permit or registration, but is subject to the conditions and limitations set forth in this Section as well as other applicable provisions of the Las Vegas Municipal Code. "

Below is a link to my Busking Experience from last December. There's a Video we made that may not be suitable for work...but further down in the thread there's a description of the permitting process and the first amendment issues.

My Busking Experience

Man, alanleroyII should've at least "busked-a-move".

The new "rules" have made Fremont lame, but also agree it was a little out of control. But basically the same few people with karaoke machines are in the circles and a few not fun others. The randomness of the "art" when people were just gathering, but now it is just a random misplaced person with a bad product.

Can only assume the "free speechers" can do whatever they want while people "earning a living" if that is also what we want to call it have to do what they are told or get fined. We really live in a backwards world these days. Try to follow rules and you are punished. Just be a crazy person trying to tell other people how to live and you have rights. Just try to own a bakery and serve your customers and you will be out out of business and harassed. Please, stop this nonsense and vote to send Washington packing. I've had enough. I seriously don't think this is America.

Um, the Constitution guarantees our right to free speech. Last time I checked there was no right to free baking.
Just be a crazy person trying to tell other people how to live....

Methinks you are sampling your product a tad much.
Does Carl "Safe Sax" Ferris have to enter the lottery every time he wants to play? I'm guessing he does but does he get his regular spot or does he have to move around.
