Question for movie theater goers.

There is a Hi-Tech seating option in some select movie theaters across the country called D-Box seating.
What D-Box is, it's a motion simulation system that provides feedback to the viewer from certain supporting movies. In other words certain movies are incoded to work with the system that moves or vibrates the seat. The D-Box seat is a little larger than most standard movie seats and is more plush and sits a little higher also. There are 3 settings and a off button. I found the experience to my liking an it makes the movies much more realistic. Even average movies seem to come to life, more so than 3-d as I have seen the same movie each way and love the D-Box experience.
The cost is about 5 dollars more for the seat and when you buy your ticket from cashier they will show you a seating chart and you select and reserve that seat for that movie time. They also program that seat to activate when the movie starts from inside the office, so non D-Box payers could still seat in a unreserved seat but in will not motion to the movie. I have a friend that does not care for the seating and wouldn't spend the extra money and have some friends that not tried it and think it's a gimmick.
I respect their point of views, but I am a big fan of the seat and have gone to about 12 D-Box movies in the last 16 months. I love the new seating.

I'd like to know if anyone on the boards have tried the D-Box experience and how did they like it, and if you haven't tried it yet and can I urge you to give it a try.
The website is D-Box.com and they will show you what movies are available, and if there is a theater in your area that has it. Have fun...........

Didnt Disneyland install something like this recently for the Michael Jackson 3-D movie... seats and floor move to the beat of the music?
So you pay $5 extra to have your seat shake? This is not something I would be interested in, but if me and my Gf went to a theater that had it we would probably pony up $5 for 1 of the shaking seats to try it out.
Movie theaters need to step it up. I'd rather watch movies at home. Better picture, better sound, no sticky floor, no annoying people talking, no $8 cokes.

I wonder if I could integrate my full body virtual reality suit with a D Box seat.

At $10 without ANY food, please..... That's why I don't go to the movies unless I'm out on a date. Besides, you can't do certain things at the movies that you CAN do at home..

When DonDiego attends the motion picture theater he wants a good film, with the picture in focus, a quality multi-channel sound system, an audience respectful of others, a clean seat, a relatively clean floor, and little to no offensive odors.

He doesn't want 3-D, or smell-o-vision, or a seat that moves. And he absolutely doesn't wanna pay for them.
No gimmicks !

Umm, . . . except Cinerama would be OK.
Is it true that DonDiego once opined that silent films were perfectly adequate and he had no desire to hear actors speak?

He wasn't certain he approved of color cinematography either, . . . but he has adapted.

The Last Days of Pompeii (Italy - 1926) Hand-Tinted Color Motion Picture

Does anybody besides kids go to the theater anymore?
