"BRI" = 50/50 split

What's your take on the NBA's latest offer on the "BRI," or basketball related income on the current offer on the table for a 50/50 split in basketball related income. For those who aren't aware, NBA players previously made 57% of BRI and owners made 43% of BRI. The current proposal for a 50/50 split expires on 11/9/11 at 5:00 pm EST. NBA players currently want 52%. After that deadline the owners offer then drops to 47% for players and 53% for owners. I say that the players should take 50/50 BRI. That would be a cut-in-pay for the player but compared to a "No season" or even a 47/53, how hard is that accept being that the players make millions.

Stern and the owners are a$$clowns, and the players are out of touch with reality. I hope the NBA never plays another game.
I agree. I would not miss the NBA.
My thinking exactly. The next NBA game played is one NBA game too many.

Hopefully they don't just skip this season. I'm hoping they skip not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6 but all future seasons.
yes, and the smaller markets that just got NBA teams recently, after paying gazillions of taxpayer dollars for new arenas to lure a team to their town, those cities will just love the idea of all that wasted money. The people who run the concessions and parking facilities and bars and restaurants near the arenas will be thrilled to see basketball go away, too. Oh well, at least there's no unemployment problem
I'm pretty sure these are frustrated fans or people sick of watching the rich fight the rich for more money. Nothing wrong with venting, fans do it all the time during strikes in major sports. I'd doubt the LVA Free For All opinions will matter when all is said and done.
I am just glad the Mavericks won the championship before this all started. Hope Labron never gets one.
Everyone wants owners to take the risks but how dare they want the rewards. I use these as a broad generalization for all businesses.
The highest paying of the NBA players will be fine with a shortened or even cancelled one. But from the mid range to the lower range players need their paychecks. They are afraid to stand up to the highest payed in the league.
As for owners, this is costing millions in "other" jobs as mentioned by KarenTN, pretty sure she is speaking for her Memphis Grizzles.

Not a big deal for me on if they play or not, I never watch until the playoffs.
