I just got done watching the Pitt-Cinci game and from the warmups there was a lot of jawing going on with Burfict of the Bengals butting helmets with a Steeler. These teams plain DO NOT like each other with all injuries and bad blood and it's apparent. All the announcers were saying the game was going to be "chippy". WTH, is that the new politically correct term 'cause "smash mouth", "bad blood", "hate each other" is just to extreme in announcing now!?
Well the announcers had to keep using "chippy" the entire game. These teams came to play, there were punches and hard hits from the outset. The refs were about to lose control but fortunately got the game somewhat under control. Somewhat, they were still playing smash mouth ball.
The whole thing seemed so silly, guys were out there knocking the living snot outta each other and they keep saying how "chippy" the game was, I'm pretty sure they even started giggling at the term before long over how ridiculous it sounded.
Were any other games called in this manner?
