These Farmers aren't 'hiring a person off the books'. They use Farm Labor Contractors who are legitimately hiring farm workers. Unfortunately these farm workers use fake ID's and phony social security numbers.

H-2A Visa workers are not that much more expensive than using a Farm Labor Contractor who still has to pay minimum wage and the employer portions of Social Security and Medicare and make a profit too. I know lots of big farmers who use these Visa workers.

They'd all use it if E-Verify closed off their local source of illegal labor who use false identification and the absconded social security numbers of real American citizens.

It appeared everyone was at work. FYI, the 4 story building I work in has about 2 1/2 floors of folks from outside the US. (H1B)

Who gives a FLYING CRAP if immagrants commit more crimes, the bottom line is they DO commit crimes same as US citizens, why let criminals in or the more pertinent question, why let the criminals stay?

No, it did not. An anti- immigration group took some census figures and extrapolated those figures. The census doesn't ask about immigration status. Without knowing what percentage of all Americans are receiving some form of welfare , the numbers are useless.

Well we all seem to have survived the 'Day without immigrants'. Maybe we should try a week to see how that goes.
