"four to the royal" results

Has anybody kept track of how they did when dealt four to the royal? only once in more than ten years have I ever drawn the magical royal card.

four times Saturday evening I was dealt four to the royal, broke up a flush once, broke up a straight once... and got zip all four times.

I am sure that over the years I have had four to the royal much more than 50 times, maybe even a hundred times.

all the other royals have been from drawing two, three, four cards, and twice I was dealt a royal.

so, just curious... does anyone have any ACTUAL stats on how many times they drew a royal holding four cards? Does it even approach the legendary 1 out of 47?
Here's my results for the last few years. During this time I had streaks of 208 and 199 tries without a hit. I also hit on back to back tries once.

2005: 8 -- 253
2006: 5 -- 362
2007: 4 -- 285
2008: 5 -- 263
2009: 3 -- 180
2010: 4 -- 88
2011: 1 -- 31

30 RF's out of 1,462 4 to a RF = 1 in 48.73 times. Looks like it's not so "legendary". As you point out, the streaks (both "hot" and "cold") do happen but the math seems to fall in line after a significant number of tries.

This was good info if for nothing else to restore my faith when it seems like you'll never hit one.

Thanks,

Dan

I don't keep statistics, But I will say that the very first time I got a royal was also the very first time I was dealt 4 to the Royal.

For those of you who do keep statistics, how do you manage to play 1200 hands an hour with perfect strategy AND make notations on how many times you get different dealt hands.

I've been dealt 4 to a RF many times over the last 15 years. While I have not kept track of how many times I've been dealt the 4, I have kept close track of every time it has filled in. The number of times it filled in:
2011: 0
2010: 0
2009: 0
2008: 0
2007: 0
2006: 0
2005: 0
2004: 0
2003: 0
2002: 0
2001: 0
2000: 0

You think you can discern a trend here.

That's easy, IF you are playing a 50 or 100 play machine.

I can not imagine anyone playing 1200 hand/hour, much less doing so error free, unless playing a 3 line or more machine.

Three cheers for nuggetboy!!!

meanwhile, Im "overdue" for a royal. My four to the royal conversion rate SUCKS and worse...

based on my tier score for this year, Ive already played 53,351 hands of video poker. NO royal yet.

I wish the "math" would work for me.

Stop holding the 5th card.

On this trip we've had 4 to royal about 3 times. The joke of it is, that EACH time we made a complet hand. One straight...one flush and one SF. The worst beat was when I was in the high limit area and the royal was over $30,000 and I made a flush.
Bagiant you broke up the flush, right?
