The "new" downtown

WOndering if any of you that have been downtown to eat, gamble and sleep. can be helpful.

Have not been to vegas in just about 2 1/2 years, probably been 4 years since I was downtown. Now that many have remodeled various areas can I get some opinions of what you think?

Best rooms and bathrooms
Best gaming atmosphere
Great restaurants

thanks
The Chart House at the Golden Nugget was really, really good and if you go before 4:00 then portions and price are pretty reasonable. It also has a beautiful aquarium in the bar area and you can see their menu on their website.

I stayed in the Carson Tower and had a wonderful room and loved the tables games - I'm prejudice due to a extreme run of winning!

I'd say the best regular rooms are in the Rush Tower at GN.

Not much has changed from your last visit 4 years ago except for some places closing down.
Well the Plaza got a renovation about 2 years ago (?) and its actually quite nice now. Ive been in the Carson Tower of the GN and their rooms are the best downtown. The 4 Queens is OK if you can get rooms away from the noise over Fremont St. Best gaming IMO is the El Cortez.....they have great BJ games and some good VP (along with Main Street Station) if your into VP. You probably won't care for my restaurant review because I mainly eat wherever its cheap although if your willing to pay.....I thought that Binions steak house was really good and has great views from the top of the tower.

The Mob Museum is there also & it is terrific
