"No soup for you ! "

Conservative are more likely to consider the rights of the business owner than left leaning folks. I, for example, believe that the business owner should decide if he allows his patrons to smoke, while Liberals believe that the voters should decide what he does inside his own building.

This is a slippery slope, as Conservatives may decide one day what Liberals are are not allowed to do inside of their homes. Believe me, 100 years ago American's would have thought this no more preposterous than the government telling the local inn owner that smoking is prohibited inside of his establishment.

If the food and service are great, I would eat there. I don't get my panties in a wad as easily as some of you.

Tom Collichio is left-leaning but Craftsteak is home to the best Wagyu I have ever eaten. So I dine there. Sheldon Adelson pumps profits into far right causes, but I love the tasting menu at Batali's B&B Ristorante. So I dine there.
There's a difference between a business owner being 'left-leaning' or funding 'far right causes' vs excluding people who voted differently than them. One is freedom of speech. The other reeks of prejudice and discrimination.

That's 100% correct. And our VP-Elect, Mike Pence, passed a law in his state to make sure restauranteers like the one in this thread would face no legal action resulting from such discrimination. Its scummy in this instance....and even more scummy when the government gives it its blessing.

Congratulations, America. This is the moral fiber of our new administration

And a host of fortune 500 companies and multi-million dollar conventions responded to Mike Pence's pro-discrimination law by threatening to boycott the state....so he rescinded his law a few weeks later.

I'm glad he's so pro-business, aren't you?
And now malls across the United States are banning teenagers unaccompanied by an adult from the premises after 5:00PM !

What is America becoming ? ? ?
PJ is twisting the truth. Pence is pro-business, and he is certainly not pro-discrimination. He also weighs the rights of the business owner, while these rights are not considered by The Left...................including left wing judges who are comfortable legislating from the bench. Anyway, this is an argument about nothing, as a cake maker's refusal to make a "gay cake" is not going to cause anyone trouble. It's instead an effort from the left to force their views on others.

Like DonDiego, however, I happily do business with anyone who can pay.

It causes as much trouble as a Hawaiian Restaurant refusing service to someone based on their political orientation. And its every bit as ignorant, don't you agree?

There's no twisting basic facts. Salesforce.com is adding a high-rise tower of jobs to Indianapolis....and that was completely contingent upon Mike Pence rescinding his pro-discrimination law. And that's only one example.

I'm sorry if Boilerman has trouble recounting recent history.

Recent History
Pence is not anti-business, however the people who threatened to not do business in Indy are discriminatory. They discriminate against those with certain views. This is further proof that Liberals consider discrimination against certain people to be very acceptable, and even encouraged.

Between the two of us, Boilerman, on this thread only one of us has provided contradicting viewpoints on discriminatory businesses in Hawaii and Indy. I'll give you a hint....its you
I fully support the right of a business owner to not want my business, whether he's a cake maker or a restaurant owner. PJ only supports the right of the Liberal restaurant owner to do so.

Boiler is quite consistent.

It's like shooting clay pigeons. It loses its fun factor pretty quick.

You're right. This wasn't my best work.

I think I conjured up memories of choosing eating establishments during Arizona Restaurant Week and having a couple who rule out one of my favorite places, Barrio Cafe because they are opposed to the James Beard award-winning chef-owner's position on gay and lesbian marriage (chef is openly lesbian). I just want to eat pork pibil cochinita.
