Are you implying that race relations were better fifty years ago? When it was still illegal in parts of the country to marry folks of other races? My best friend in first grade had a black father and a German mother. I remember his Dad casually saying that he'd never be able to go home to North Carolina with his family?

Well DUH!, That's a no brainer statement to make, of course things were worse 50 (more like 70) yrs ago but we're talking about NOW. Things were much better eight yrs ago pre O. Our society is a complete mess right now.

So rather than attack the liar who claimed relations today are the worse ever, you attack the person who exposes the lie. What does that say about you?
I'm 58 and that conversation was the summer after my first year in school. We were living in Japan and my Dad was getting transferred to Ft Bragg. I think it was 1965. Not anywhere close to 70 years ago.
At the last minute, he went to Vietnam and we moved to my Grandmother's in NY.

I'm pretty certain anyone with half a brain the poster was implying modern times. Anyone stupid enough o not figure that out should've just brought up the late 1700's when the slave trade was kicking off. How did you determine your cut off point?

Currently it certainly seems relations are worse that they were than ten years ago, there' I put a defined time on it, hows that?
Let's try this racism test. What would you think if Donald Trump said, "Low White Voter Turnout Would Be an 'Insult to the Legacy of Lincoln, Kennedy, and Reagan'"?

I think everyone would agree, that is a racist statement. Why is it not a racist statement when our President says this?

What you don't get is that ALL lives matter, at least the way I see it and I think that holds true for most people regardless.

Indeed they do! But how many videos have you seen of unarmed white suspects being shot or otherwise killed ?

There's a common theme to the races of the cops and suspects in these homicides....and for some reason that's really, really hard for Republicans to acknowledge. I wonder why that is. And if the lives of those unarmed people matter to them - why do they ridicule protestors who speak to it?

I suspect the cable news channel they watch has something to do with it

As I said, if charges are warranted BRING 'EM! I wholeheartedly would support 'em and get down to the facts. I have nothing whatsoever against peaceful protesters but when they group and start chanting shit about dead cops and NOW!, smell like fried bacon etc., bet your butt I have a problem with it, every bit the same if a group of white protesters where chanting the same about dead ni**ers, we want 'em now. Both offend the shit out of me and I would hope they would everyone on this board.
"There's a common theme to the races of the cops and suspects in these homicides"

In many of the high profile cases, the police were multi - ethnic. But the common theme in the high profile cases is that the person shot was committing a crime & there is no excuse for the resultant riots

Meanwhile just last weekend there was a shooting in Philly where the police were the targets

If you don't see the difference between the two, you have my sympathy. As Dan Quayle once said, what a waste it is to lose ones mind.

RIGHT-O, get Mr Creedy on it right away!

Compassionate Christians do not accept racism and we call it out when we see it. We seek to understand others and tolerate those with differences. However, we show contempt for those who mean us harm and those who cannot see the light.
