Methinks PJ & his band of Merry Men would want to take from the rich and give to the poor.

Unless you're living in a libertarian paradise like Somalia, government policy does affect the distribution of income downward (New Deal to Reagan) or upward (Reagan to present). That the top 0.1% have about a quarter of the wealth in this country didn't happen because it was somehow the natural state. It happened because of government policy. And policies - like businesses paying overtime once again, just to choose one of many possibilities - can be changed.

You betcha! The first agenda item on my list is making welfare queens like Donald Trump pay the same effective tax rate that i do. I'm pretty brutal, aren't I?

While the WPA and other projects did help the folks, it was the WWII that put the economy into orbit and employed practically everyone while the men were off to war. This brought the poor out of poverty and made quite a few companies and their top executives, very rich.

Yep, government stimulus works, whether it's the New Deal/WPA/TVA/CCC type, or the WWII type.

I'd prefer the rebuilding the infrastructure as opposed to going to war, but that's just me.

How cute. "You've got a business...you didn't build that". "It happened because of government policy".

But....Hey...I was merely speculating on what PJ wanted...."to spread the wealth around".

If Somalia is a 'Libertarian paradise' then North Korea must be a 'Socialist Paradise', right? You do know that Libertarians are not Anarchists, right? Somalia is actually a failed nation state not a Libertarian State. Unfortunately Somalia failed after 39 years of Socialist rule led to Civil War and 25 years of suffering. Shit happens.

Poor old DonDiego opines whoever composed the cited sales technique instructions misused the term "Other People's Money".

Prime Minister Thatcher meant it in the sense of "from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs", . . . i.e. The Government taking, whether by taxation, expropriation, or other means "money" from those who have it and redistributing to to those who do not, . . . until it's gone.
This is fundamentally different from an individual charging his credit card

The cited excerpt does not mention credit cards. Nonetheless, if the post is accurate, i.e. that the prospective customer was encouraged to charge his tuition on his credit card, poor old DonDiego doesn't see how this relates to "The Government using other people's money". Individuals are free to charge purchases on their credit cards or not, as they choose. And they are obligated to pay it back, or pay interest on it as long as they choose.
"Unfortunately many of those principals have been lost to a tax code of kickbacks allowing people like Donald Trump to pay zero taxes"

PJ and company continue to peddle these false facts. According to the IRS the top 1% pay 38% of the federal taxes. This fact has been posted numerous times, but ignored by the liberals since it doesn't fit their narrative.

PJ and company also like to peddle the fiction that Americans are walking around barefoot, hungry and living in cardboard boxes (sarcasm) when in reality according to the Census Bureau they are more likely

80 percent of poor households have air conditioning. In 1970, only 36 percent of the entire U.S. population enjoyed air conditioning.

92 percent of poor households have a microwave.

Nearly three-fourths have a car or truck, and 31 percent have two or more cars or trucks.

Nearly two-thirds have cable or satellite TV.

Two-thirds have at least one DVD player, and 70 percent have a VCR.

Half have a personal computer, and one in seven have two or more computers.

More than half of poor families with children have a video game system, such as an Xbox or PlayStation.
43 percent have Internet access.

One-third have a wide-screen plasma or LCD TV.

One-fourth have a digital video recorder system, such as a TiVo

Poor Americans have more living space in their homes than the average non-poor Swede, Frenchman, or German

42 percent of poor households actually own their own homes.

Only 6 percent of poor households are overcrowded. More than two-thirds have more than two rooms per person.
