If the US can't run the VA, how does pj expect the the govt serve over 300m people?

The same way they do Medicare which is the same program Bernie Sanders wants for evryone. And i know Hoops doesn't want to compare customer satisfaction between Medicare and private insurance.

Hmm, . . . how's all that going ?

From The Wall Street Journal, based upon the 2015 Federal Trust Fund Reports

What the chart shows is that around 2030 the Medicare Trust Fund will not have sufficient funds to cover projected Medicare expenditures. So in 2030 they will need to either not cover all that the taxpaying Medicare recipients have been promised or they'll need to have raised Medicare tax revenues before then.

The same holds true for promised Social Security benefits in/after 2036.

And the same holds true for Social Security Disability Insurance payments in 2017, . . . wait a minute, that's next year !
[DonDiego supposes the SSDI payments exceed expectations due in part to fraud; when some folks see the Government giving money away they'll cheat to get some. Hey, stuff happens.]

"Promise 'em benefits, . . . and raise taxes later," . . . hmm, sorta like "sooner or later running out of other people's money". Hey, stuff happens.

Or they could go all out socialized medicine and actually negotiate the price of things like prescription drug costs, and so on.
First the democrats tried Medicare which has been mismanaged to a multi trillion dollar unfunded liability. Then they tried obamacare which is collapsing under its own weight. Now they want a program like the VA which is a failure.

One must give them props for consistency.

props
1)Proper Recognition- respect from your fellow peers; Popularity.
Example: "I had ta pop a cop in the ass 'cos he wouldnt giv me mah props in Oaktown, y'all."

Ref: The Urban Dictionary
Republicans sabotage Medicare by preventing it from negotiation drug prices (They're all about the Free Market, don't ya know) .....and by adding an unpaid for prescription drug program to it. Then they turn around and complain about the fiscal irresponsibility of Medicare.

Keeping Medicare and the rest of the government is a relatively simple exercise. You just need people who can do honest math instead of saying they can pay for things by cutting your taxes.
Drug prices don't account for a $30T unfunded liability.
