The "resort fee" ripoff escalates..

I see that CET has once again raised it's ripoff "resort fee" - do those of you who patronize CET feel the love, man?
Looks like we all need to avoid CET.... M switching to M Life from Total Rewards (getting pissed off)
The bean counters know that people will still go despite raising those pesky resort fees. Look at how the casinos lowered video poker pay schedules, people still play those lousy pay schedules. The casinos changed blackjack payouts from 3/2 to 6/5, people still play. Charging for parking which was once free as well, my guess is people will still go.
I fully understand ones' decision to change casino's while looking for greater value. I will never understand the anger that some display during this process. Every company's job is to maximize profits, while every customer's interest is to get maximum value. These goals are always and will always be in conflict.

Interestingly, all of those complaining charge as much as possible when they sell something, yet they believe that others should not do the same. How do you live with yourselves.............being that you gouge the customer whenever possible?

Once again Boiler is preaching about how others act while looking in the mirror. Boiler is very good at basing his opinions on assumption. Not exactly a quality. It is an example of an incredibly thick skull though.

I made my money the old fashioned way. Taking it from people. Give the people what they think they want and they will hand over their money and keep coming back.
That said, I've always found Harrahs, or CET, or The Evil Empire, or whatever you desire to call it among the easiest places to get free rooms on the planet. I give them minimum play but get offers for eight free nites a month most montha- three in Vegas, three in AC and two in Laughlin. Thy rate me as Platinum simply because I use their stupid Visa card once a month for gas. In Laughlin, comped rooms dont pay a dime in taxes or resort fees. IN AC, a comped room pays only room tax. Its been awhile since I used a comp in Vegas but I'm pretty sure they don't pay resort fees on comps.
If you are a regular gambler and CET isn't comping you, go someplace else. Try The Orleans or Gold Coast.
There's problems with all the greedy bastards. The ones that say "I'm leaving Harrah's for MGM" are really stupid. They have the same Resort Fees and soon will have paid parking. As long as you keep feeding the beast, it will continue to grow. The best way to show your disgust with all this crap is to not go for a year. When the town loses BILLIONS of dollars, they'll wake up. As long as they have a 90%+ occupancy rate, things won't change. Drop it to 50% for a few months and watch things change in a hurry.
MGM is charging for parking...and CET is raising resort fees. I think we are entering a Las Vegas Strip Bubble. The last time it happened I think we saw the resorts trying to one-up each other with $500/plate Steakhouses. I don't think it will last.

I predict this is all going to come crashing down when the next cyclical downturn comes about. In the meantime, I think I'll be avoiding the strip hotels.
Billryan, CET does charge resort fees in the Las Vegas area for Platinum players on comp. You need to go Diamond.

If that's the case, I'll stay at the dozens of hotels that don't. On my last trip, I stayed six nights at South Point and three at El Cortez, all comped with no resort fees. My five nights at Harrahs Lauglin were resort fee fee as was my stay at the Edgewater. Previous trip , The Rio was feeless, but I did have a Diamond player staying with me, and the upgrade to a real suite was probably off of his card.
In any event, Diamond isn't that hard to achieve if you are a regular player at their casinos, so they don't charge their loyal customers.
